Halo 4 Multiplayer, Sci Fi Call of Duty?

From many articles that I have read Halo 4 just sounds like a ‘‘Sci Fi Call Of Duty’’ Which upsets me because the Halo series was a decent original FPS that gave us fun times and so many memories.

If the leaked information is true then in my opinion 343 are basically saying FU to the Halo fanbase and creating a whole new one full of COD players

My best hopes for Halo 4 is the campaign/storyline, I read most of the novels/books and really can’t wait for everything to come to fruition.

You are quite later to the fray, most of this has been discussed, and some of us have concluded that yes, whilst Halo may have borrowed assets from different games, it is still a Halo game underneath.

Oh look - another boring, unoriginal, bigoted thread. Thanks OP, we really needed this.

Hello! Allow me to tell you how I feel about this by posting what I posted in a topic of my own~

Enjoy and please read to it’s fullest.

So, I know this title will bring about the bashing and defending sides of the community, and I did it for just that reason, to catch the eye of both sides. Why may you ask?

I have one central reason and it’s the reason I made the title the way I did: Everyone relating all these little details to CoD.

OMG, SPARTAN-‘OPS’!? CALL OF DUTY MUCH!!!?

Oh god no, Sprint a full feature…it’s beccoming C-O-D.

No Respawn timer? wow their really copying CoD.

Seriously…I’m sick and tired of that, I’m sick and tired of this Call of Duty this, and Call of Duty that. As I pointed out in earlier posts in other threads on this same forum, and as I will point out even now…just because Call of Duty has military themed Yoink! in it, doesn’t mean they created it.

Special Operations (Spec. Ops) is a term for mission’s that are on the down low within a military in the middle of a War or even during down time after and before War (Prime Example: SEAL Team 6 and their supposed take down of Osama -Yoink!-)

It’s only right that the Office of Naval Intelligence(O.N.I), the masters of the Spartan Program itself and the creators of the UNSC Infinity, as well as the candle holders for all things black listed, special operations, intelligence, etc. would set up Operations that only Spartan’s can pull off that not even the specially trained operators known as the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers or O.D.S.T. can handle.

But I digress, going over to game mechanics;
Weapon Attachments - The DMR, BR, and other such rifle based weaponry, in the world of today, have rails on their frame for a reason.

No Respawn Delay - Now I know a lot of people are complaining about this, but in fact, I know that there are a lot of gamers who play Halo, even the core Halo community that want to jump in as fast as possible to redeem themselves from a T-bagger, or just get back to kicking -Yoink!- and taking names.

Primary Weapon, Secondary Weapon, Grenade Type, Armor Ability - Excuse me if I’m wrong on this (or at least in the case of the first 3) but didn’t Halo have all this in the first place? I don’t see the problem here. Besides that, the modification slot: The Armor has to do SOMETHING rather than just look pretty, same can be said for Weapon Mods, just cause it looks cool doesn’t mean you wouldn’t upgrade it with some extra bell’s and whistles to make it not only look better but can conform to a more tactical or deadly approach with said weapon.

Forerunner Vision:
So, even though we had night vision with the ODST’s in Halo 3: ODST that also went and outlined the Enemy in red, all while using the visor mind you, you find this new Forerunner Vision a problem? Honestly I just see it working a lot like the ODST Visor did, so really, there’s no change in my eyes unless I can see it first hand and experience it.

And that’s the key point I think most central fan’s and defender’s are trying to stress; Experience it before you judge it just from an article written by a gaming magazine and not stated in 343’s own words and shown by 343 themselves. Hell even Frankie stated in one comment back a while ago, and I qoute:

“I didn’t say perks. Others used that term, but I didn’t.”

People are immediately lumping this to an equivalent of CoD, and I’m sick of it, but to be fair on the same side, CoD isn’t the first game to use an RC Helicopter able to mark enemies on a map and so on. In fact, the first time I saw one of those, it was in Homefront, and that came before MW3.

Honestly, stop lumping Halo with CoD. If anything CoD, Halo, and Battlefield are all copying Quake since Quake is one of the original roots of FPS genre gaming.

In reality; ALL Game developers take from something or someone and make it their own, just because they do something different and it’s similar to one thing doesn’t automatically mean that it’s becoming that.

Just because Apple went and made their own Computer Technology doesn’t mean it’s becoming Microsoft.

Just because we use tactics and training like the Spartans of old Greece doesn’t mean we, ourselves, are becoming Spartans.

We learn from the thing’s others do, we take that knowledge, shape it, make it better, make it new and fresh. That’s what makes us Human.

So just because CoD went and named a game mode based off of an actual Military way of operation’s doesn’t mean that it belong’s to CoD. the Unite Nations Space Command is just that though, a Military Government. And while some of you are saying:“OH DON’T DO THAT, IT’S NOT HALO!!”

How? It’s weaponry, cosmetics, advancement, and intelligence.

Halo is Spartan’s, Elite’s, The Future, Space Ship’s, Armored Soldier’s, Plasma Grenade’s and Weaponry, Forerunner’s, Forge, Fun.

Halo isn’t the Human Weapon’s, it isn’t the Operations, and Military nature. It’s Halo.

It’s not CoD, if anything you should be saying ‘Hey look, weapon attachments! Their taking idea’s from our modern day weaponry and military! Awesome!!’ (Case in point: the beloved Battle Rifle was based off the actual, modern day assault rifle known as the FAMAS)

In reality, stop lumping Halo with CoD. Halo is it’s own animal, no matter what they use for innovation.

You take away Super human soldiers, Alien enemies and weaponry, and giant ship training and we would have nothing but a futuristic CoD. Think about it.

UNSC Marines as the primary Multiplayer character! Marines versus Marines! On the ground, in the field!

But it’s not that, is it? And I love that.

It’s Super Soldiers with bad–Yoink!- Assassinations that can Jet-Pack to another surface and blow away enemies with Spartan Lasers and then pick up a glowing Energy Sword and run through the fools that stand in your way and then Hologram distract them before using a Plasma Grenade to blow them to hell.

One thing I don’t understand is why people haven’t made an uproar about T-bagging? That CAME from Halo, and there can be this big debate about how it did and didn’t but in reality, the reason it came from Halo is because when our Spartan’s crouched on the dead bodies, the crouch was fast and the bodies jumped a bit, making it a hilarious spectacle as well as an ‘in your face’ moment.

CoD stole that. Or did they really?

isn’t it just another player conceived idea that became normalized for any FPS game now to ridicule others?

The point is:
Stop comparing Halo to CoD, or CoD to Battlefield, or Battlefield to This, and so on.

Each game has a core and central thing about it, and Halo will always be Halo, these key features you all are nit-picking about are things that are normal in real life or have built up from many different idea’s and realizations.

Give the game a chance by actually experiencing it or hearing it from the horses(343’s) mouth, rather than just taking what a magazine says so literally and flipping out about it.

Thank You,
Shadow Wolf.’

it can feel like that and also im sry but i know your post is going to get spammed with the die hard wanna be fanboys that will say stop saying cod but when obvious looks obvious we have to say it. its like wearing a t-shirt that says something racist and then says dont call me a racist. but ya i do agree calling it spartan ops and its april im feeling and april fools joke coming on like reach did.

there’s nothing great about being unique. We should all strive to be like the popular flavor of the week. 343 could add ADS and killstreaks I’d still support them wwoooot 343!!! boo haters! ^_~

i am a 343 fanboy, in my mind they can do no wrong, even if they replace the chief with a purple unicorn that fires rainbows (at 200% bloom) thru the new BR. i take offense to your opinion even though it has merit. only my opinion is acceptable

like it or not, the similarities are there…

How am I trolling?

I merely stated that you were being the troll due to the fact that you went and said what you did, I respect that you have your own opinions but when they are positively negative from the start then by all mean’s, don’t bother, but still, I respect your right to post your opinion, but I will say this much.

I am no troll, and this reverse-troll b.s. does not apply to me when I am merely making an accusation of sorts.

Never argue with an idiot; he’ll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Sugar coat everything all you want, but at the end of the day Halo 4 just sounds like a Sci Fi COD.

lol

Pretend your uninformed opinion is fact all you want, but at the end of the day, you’re still a bigot.

The fact of the matter is, you can make all the assumptions you want. Till you play the game you can not make a final verdict. However making threads like this does not help at all. I suggest that everyone should keep an open mind. If by chance you or anyone for that matter rage-leave this community because of the recent changes made to halo, I can assure you, you wont be missed.

do you even know what trolling is? all i stated was the obvious. that people would come in and say that. trolling is to flame people. you need to check out urban dictionary. all i listed was an example of something obvious but if we state it then we become a troll? no sry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet)

Not fact, opinion. Read my original post. Stumble bum

“Sugar coat everything all you want, but at the end of the day Halo 4 just sounds like a Sci Fi COD.”

I don’t care what you said in your OP, with this post you treated your (moronic) opinion as fact.
