Halo 4 Multiplayer not a good as 3 or Reach

Ok first of all before I get into a 343i bushing phase, let me start by saying I am a huge fan of the series if played every game (bar halo wars) are read every book and halo 4 had the best campaign yet, however the multiplayer feels half–Yoinked!- which is what tends to happen when you don’t have a beta.

First, The biggest thing that affects me is there is no local search option. I have to play in laggy U.S games and with a 1-2 second lagg there is no point using any weapons like the rocket cause you pull the trigger then 2 seconds later the rocket leaves the barrel ( I’m Australian).

Second. The create-a-class is ripped straight out of Call of Duty. Almost identical, I mean in CoD you get to pick 1 rifle,1 handgun, 1 grenade and 3 perks sound familiar(and before anyone gets all pissy saying halo’s nothing like cod I’m talking about the renamed crate-a-class not game play)

Third, The kill streak or whatever it’s called is just around bad. you get it and its never any weapon you want or need I mean it will give you choice between plasma grenades(when you still have two), a needler or speed boost on ragnaroc really what am I going to do with any of that. Speed boost I get but I would rather damage boost or over shields.

Forth, the only starting weapon worth using is the dmr. It’s the strongest and most accurate starting weapon in the game; it will drop shields in 4 hits and kill with 5. Try versing a team using dmrs with the regen ability.

Fifth, the poor choice of game modes, where is grifball, assault, swat need I say more?

Sixth, Why do the flood not have sprint and have shields? You took one of the best game modes in reach and just through it out the window. Everyone should start with a shotgun and pistol no armour mods or abilities flood should have no shield or abilities. Just run faster and have sprint.

Seventh, Why is there no forgeworld/sandbox sized maps to forge on like in reach or halo 3.

Eighth, The drop in, drop out matchmaking system is broken any time I join a game (9 out of 10 anyway) the game is just about to finish or in big team in particular my team is down by 30-40 kills Or if I’m really lucky my team will leave before the game starts I’ll be fighting 4, 5 or 8 other players by my self. This would never have happened if 343i had kept the penalty system from the past halo games( the 15 minute ban bring it back).

Ninth, In big team about half the time when I rush to get a mantis or tank and beat a teammate to it, they will just blow it up with no penalty because friendly fire is always off. The only game mode in any past halo games to have friendly fire of was infection.

Tenth, The lack of a true skill playlists like in halo 3.

I think that’s about it for now I’m sure that when I post this I will think of more but right now there is nothing else and Before anyone jumps in an tells me how dumb and gay I am please take a good look at halo 4’s multiplayer and tell me I’m wrong.
Of course most of this could have been prevented with an open Beta.

Halo 4 destroys Reach dude. End of story.

I can understand liking 3’s MP over 4, but Reach was absolutely horrible and you should feel bad for liking it.

Agreed on all counts (about Halo 3, though not necessarily Reach).

I can just as easily say “Halo 3 was horrible and you should feel bad for liking it”. No less stupid, though.

Don’t be an -Yoink!- and judge somebody for liking something that you didn’t.

I’m confused. Reach came out and everybody did the whole “Reach multiplayer sucks!” and now that we have Halo 4, its “Make it like Reach’s multiplayer!”

It’s how it’s always been.

Just remember: every game since Halo 2 has been the official “death of Halo” to forums like this. Don’t take anything they say seriously; every game is an abomnination until the next one comes out.

Halo 4 multiplayers sucks so much it’s just ridiculous.

Jetpack…why oh why did they add the jetpack, it was one of the many things that made the multiplayer of Reach so crappy

Regenerative abilities…why…just why…

Sprint ability is only used by cowards who try to run away or those morons who use sprint to quickly double tap the melee button (that and sword)

Camping…Just no. I haven’t seen this much camping since i went camping myself in france.

DMR is way OP, now I myself use the DMR but i still see the point for nerfing.

Plasma grenade: needs a upgrade and no jokes about that, i can stand half a feet away from one of those and still survive.

and where in godsname is our standard FFA! i dont want Regicide, sure it’s fun but i want the classic FFA

and why does flood mode suck so much?

Better than Reach and 3 imo.

I don’t think it’s better than Reach because it’s pretty much an upgraded Reach. Not the original trilogy revamp that they promised and everyone was looking forward to, but more of a refined Halo Reach. By all means a good thing because Reach was excellent as a video-game, just not as a Halo game.

I’m enjoying it. I think it’s great. Varied, fun and with a nice pace.

Actually it’s not very varied and that’s the issue. When you have loadouts with a rounded out customization set you’ll have the majority of players, can’t blame them for doing this though, choosing the best of the best instead of best for you. It’s why we have a huge skew of Promethean vision / DMR users. To make a game varied everything needs to be good for it’s respective usage and try to make it as much as possible from not conflicting with other customizations, but they have failed to do this.

Sorry my friend that you feel this way towards Halo 4. That being said…Are you out of your mind? This is the best Halo since 2. Rock solid MP, campaign, and spartan ops. Hands down the best halo in years.

  3. Of course. Because giving everyone rocket launchers every few minutes would be horrible design. It’s supposed to be bad.

  4. Disagree. Perhaps I’m not “pro” enough but I quite enjoy killing DMR users at close range with any of the automatic weapons. By the way, your statistics are wrong. The Lightrifle is the strongest and arguably most accurate in the game.

  8. I’ve actually noticed that when my teammates leave the game will pick new ones to replace them. In halo 3 I would just be stuck with an empty team.

I find it varied. I’m often surprised by how people use their loadouts, which makes the game varied and interesting for me.

The only thing I agree with is the lack of some modes in the online multiplayer. I have played SWAT already, it’s nice. Just want grifball back in that. After that, I enjoy Halo 4.

Double post, but I’ll agree here to. The armor abilities need balancing, some of them are just plain useless.
