Halo 4 MULTIPLAYER maps

I’m pretty sure everybody want’s huge epic maps in halo 4 along with all the medium and small sized maps that we have all come to love. A really cool addition to Halo maps would be for them to change while your playing on them, example its a space map and out side there’s a space battle happening and mid way threw the game the space station or vessel your on gets hit and rips a hole in the ship/environment exposing the vacuum of space making the battle field or at least a part of it zero g which would work great if they are going to put thrusters into the game like the one on chief in the teaser trailer. Another example is your playing on a map that has some sort of water theme to it and it starts to flood, but not enough to cause any changes to gameplay. maybe a jungle/swamp map something that looks like 343 guilty spark from Halo but it’s at night and it starts to rain and thunder and you can see the rain droplets on you visor and lightning brightens up the map. I would also like to see some form of wildlife in the maps and campaign but they would be timid and not want to go near you, it would give you the feeling of being lost and not having any idea wear you are and give you more of a feel of adventure like Halo 1,(in multilayer maps it would probable work better as a back ground thing though) Halo settings also need to be more responsive to what you do like if you shoot a gun birds will fly from trees and everything will go quiet or if you shoot a light it will go out. So what do you think yes no explain.

also if you could design your own map what would it be like, use your imagination.

Here is an idea for maps. All new original maps, no remakes. I don’t want to see any remakes of any previous Halo map whether its forge world or a redesign. I don’t want to see a blood gulch remake, or a sanctuary clone and I swear if I see sword base again I’m gonna flip. Everything should be new and different that what has already come out.

And don’t make maps based off the campaign, that is just laziness. They took parts of the Reach campaign and made them into multiplayer maps, wow slackers. So I think that’s the best idea to start with then they can work on how to make the maps better and add cool stuff to them.

How about you go to school and make your own maps. Then you could tell them what to do.

I agree, maybe one or two remakes, but not in something like Forge World. And I think it was actually the other way around- they made the multiplayer maps, and implemented them into campaign, example- Reflection (aka Ivory Tower from Halo 2) on the campaign level New Alexandria.

Could be, but I would like to see some originality

I know what you mean, I do too, Reach had hardly any.

We need snowy maps in Halo 4. I missed them in Halo Reach. Breakneck just didn’t cut it because I only ever played it in Invasion. :frowning:

Anyone remember the Death Moa from Fails of the Week?

If we can’t very precisely control the environment changes in both Forge and Custom Game options, then no, I think it’d be a bad idea. Maps with such changes would have very limited utility when it comes to community creativity – that’s less development effort spent on maps that Forgers can use, which means less development effort spent on something that we can leverage to extend the lifespan of the game even as we play it.

A snow map, a desert map, a map on mountains would be interesting,

An aquarium map you are in a glass box and you are surrounded by water now that would be cool

A flying map - A huge carrier that is floating slowly in the air.

A cave - A map that is just a big cave.

I would post more ideas but I don’t have any right now.

I don’t want any remakes EXCEPT Guardian and/or Death Island.

The OP never said anything about remakes, but I do agree that they should make all (at least most) of the maps original. Though the campaign/multiplayer cross was a unique idea, it did give a completely different feel to the maps than other Halo games before them…not really in a good way. It tried to accommodate both campaign and multiplayer both, but wasn’t that great at one or the other individually.

From back before Halo 2 was released I remember going on the B.net forums talking about them needing to incorporate weather in the maps. Making each individual game experience more unique. Making certain maps have snow/blizzards, rain/storms, etc, or even night and day options. It can show it on the voting screen so you know what weather to expect before going in. Plus give you the option to add these to Forged maps, like filters do currently. It can even just be a special playlists with this feature.

Imagine trying to snipe in a blizzard that came out of nowhere during a match. Driving a Warthog in the pouring rain in the mud and sliding. Rain so loud that it may temporarily muffle whats going on around you. Playing at night time with lightning striking giving little glimpses of light across the whole map. Having plasma weapons glowing in the night as they stream across at their targets.

These are just some of the variants that I have envisioned since Halo 2 was in the works. And with each release I find that I have been setting too high of standards. lol. But eventually Halo, or some game, will do this. Maybe its more technical than current gen systems can handle and may have to wait till the next.

Sorry so long, just a topic I have long hoped for.

I really like the idea of weather in Halo multiplayer, but only in certain situations. For example, if there’s going to be a blizzard, it has to happen at the exact same time every match (say five minutes in and it lasts for three minutes). That way players can know what to expect and plan for it.

Also I think map interactivity on that scale should ONLY be in BTB. Not with smaller teams, and definitely not in ranked matches.

It sounds like it could be really fun, but it also sounds like a recipe for disaster if implemented incorrectly.

I’m afraid the majority of players will not agree with you. Reflection was the most fantastic default Reach map. There should be at least 2 or 3 default remakes in Halo 4.

Also, Bungie actually made the multiplayer maps first, then placed them in Campaign.

Another idea for night maps would be glowing plants like in avatar, because it would bring colour back into the game and look sweet!

Oooh, this. Say what else you like about Avatar, those visuals were damn -Yoink!-.

as much as I would like to, it would be to off topic :C

Whatever the case is why would anyone want any remakes. Reflection is beautifully designed but I don’t want to see it in Halo 4. Maybe 2 but the rest should all be something new

yes like space maps in battlefront 2

hmm… I wonder
