Armor Abilities, better known as AA’s on the forum. AA’s definitely aren’t what we expected them to be (unless you didn’t want them in the first place). Anyone have any ideas to in a sense “nerf” the AA’s, but not really have them at all.
My idea was armor that is not just cosmetic but also effects your players traits (not perks. I am not trying to force COD into Halo for all of you trolls!) This could maybe take your armor you choose and make it a certain offensive or defensive element for whatever you seem to always die from! Possibly anti-explosive armor (damn frags!), or maybe a stealth feature that makes you somewhat less of a target for motion sensors, or lighter armor that makes you move faster. Things like this would m make “you” a Spartan. You can play how you want to. I do still believe that all players should spawn with the same weapons though. Maybe bandolier armors could make it if you pick up a sniper while wearing the shotgun bandolier wrist (for example) give you and only you extra shells. The tac-pad maybe could implement a unique VISR like the ODSTs that implement better accuracy. Certain knee pads could apply better defense against falling, higher jump, or faster movement. All of these would only be a slight difference to the overall player, but they should not be completely useless.
These are MY ideas. If you do not want this please do not comment. If you have any suggestions and want to “run with this idea” with me in a smart and respectful manner, please feel free to comment at your leisure.
I actually really like this idea, and I personally hate armor abilities
I think this idea is decent enough to be tested. I think it would be good if all the parts of your armor just slightly effected your performance. Nothing too crazy though
Sprint shouldn’t be an AA but a normal game play feature. There is no reason to have slow speeds with a sprint option, just balance it out so you don’t move like a snail or being held down by weights a la Halo Reach.
As for AA in general, cool idea just needs the right implementation. At it’s worst, remove from them from future titles.
No thanks. Not Halo. Find a better way to innovate the game other than entirely screwing up to golden triangle, please.
Creating a thread and asking those who don’t like it is incredibly pointless and biased. If you really wanted honest feedback, you would accept negative feedback and criticism, not simply ignore it and listen only to those who do like it. That would create biased and misleading feedback, as well as set your thread up for flamebait.
Why would we not comment if we don’t like the idea? Sorry but that would just result in a really one sided post which doesn’t actually tell you what people think.
OT: This idea would certainly be good for FF or campaign, however competitive multiplayer is about people starting on a level playing field and working for the powerups. This not only breaks this rule, but gives high ranked players with a wider armoury range an advantage over low ranked players. Sorry
Having said that I think this could be a really fun way of adding a new layer of depth to the FF mode.

I did this because I want to run with this idea. It is a “prototype” of sorts. I don’t want trolls coming in and mocking everything that needs to be said! That is why I asked for no negative posts. I want to see how people evolve this idea, not hear how people don’t like it!

How will the idea evolve if people don’t point out what’s bad about it? What you should’ve said is “If you don’t like it please give a reason why.”.
I wouldn’t like that
why can’t Halo just be Halo?
