Halo 4 multiplayer=inspired by Assassin creed

Not sure if this was mentioned before, but did 343I got idea from Assassin’s Creed multiplayer? I mean where multiplayer also plays important part of storyline.
Newest vidoc revealed CG from multiplayer. Assassin’s Creed also shows cg video when you start and when you reach certain level.
Tell me if I am wrong, but Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood was the first to incorporate story to multiplayer right?

I’m pretty sure MMOs have been doing that for much longer.

wow, you are so wrong. a lot of games have done this before, and you could also say the same for invasion gametype from reach was also cannon too.

TF2, two worlds (1,2),any mmo(not really a story but its still counts), soul caliber, Brink, fable 2 and 3, star wars battlefront 1 and 2, star wars Jedi Knights, left 4 dead both, mass effect 3, any battlefields(game) to name a few

No dude, the CG was from a mode called “Spartan Ops” which is like an interactive TV show that incorporates online multiplayer, but the matchmaking component like your thinking about has no cutscenes

I don’t care what inspired 343’s decision to tie everything together through narrative, because frankly, it doesn’t matter.

Yep, this about sums it up.

I’m pretty sure 343i made multiplayer a canonical part of the universe as a progression of integrating multiplayer more closely into the fiction.

Multiplayer was always somewhat part of the universe in that the maps were meant to be actual locations that existed within it. ODST expanded on this with Firefight imitating holdout scenarios from the campaign, and Reach went even further by having all the launch maps integrated into the campaign and Invasion mode being “fiction inspired.”

If you think about it having all matches be part of a training simulation is really a logical next step, completing the process of tying multiplayer to the fiction.

I never knew that highlighted games had multiplayer to tie in story.
And Mass Effect 3 came after AC: Brotherhood.
And How dumb of me. I have played mmorpg tons of time, yet I forgot about it.
You got me there.

AC wasnt the first to create the concept, it’s arguable that AC’s developers were influenced by older material, such as the Matrix.

red pill…blue pill…OH DEAR GOD

even if they did get the idea from AC (which they probably didn’t) it doesn’t matter because they’re intrigating it in their own way and what i’v seen it looks awesome
