The Games: Youtube version
MLG put out some Halo 4 gameplay earlier today, actually saying some would be an understatement. Full matches of Infinity Slayer played by the big boy pros.
You can see Promethean Vision being used a bunch during the matches, there are the occasional thruster or shield in there too.
Also it seems that Red and Blue are now given names: Red= Demon and Blue= Fury
> For those that don’t know how Infinity Slayer functions:
>
> -Players can call down their own ordinance drops by getting kills and medals. Ordinance Drops are the choice of a power weapon, extra grenades (not in these games) or a powerup (ie. Overshield)
>
> -A different scoring system based on points is used instead of just kills.
Also if you are having trouble with MLG’s video player I should have the YouTube version in a few hours.
Post what you think about the MP from seeing these videos.
I’m not saying I’m better than them or anything, but it was really painful to watch red team in the first video. Most of their deaths seemed like they put it on themselves <_<
PV looks really distracting for me. I don’t see myself using it.
none of the videos will load for me…
I have to say… Even though the game looks awesome… Forerunner vision is rly OP
> none of the videos will load for me…
Not a problem my friend, the Youtube links are up!
I’ve enjoyed the gameplay revealed by the MLG players.
It may look like PV is going to used non-stop but that’s because on a map you don’t know, how can you blame anyone for choosing the option that helps with the unknown?
Pretty sure TP (thruster pack) and HLS (hardlight shield) are meant to be better counters to the CQB weapons than PV and camping will be.
I’m damn sure from what I’ve seen that TP and HLS are going to keep PV in its place once it’s realised that they make great corner and room assisters. Once that happens, active might get a bit more use, cause it’s not going too useful with the initial PV users.
Loved how devastating the PP sounded when hitting. Glad it’s still useful, need to see more however.
Was it me or did the weapon swapping (Y) seem quicker? YES if so
Sprint appeared to be a very natural feeling to the players too. Almost as if they missed it
I love how the maps break up their long engagement areas with useable cover or very different graded levels that aren’t so useful against smartly placed explosives.
Can’t tell if the AR fires faster, it recoils in animation much more… Perhaps it is still the same RoF but increased damage? Not sure how useful that makes it yet, it wasn’t used much.
Not sure on the Pistol but it did seem useful for the times it was used. It looks like 6-shots can beat the BR’s 5-shots, when the 5-shots aren’t that slow in the first place, that’s not so bad. But the range that that is viable till, dunno yet.
The Carbine and SR (storm rifle) didn’t get much love, neither did the Needler, but they did seem to have effect. Probably because the BR seemed to feel like a worn in pair of boots to the players so those didn’t get much play. The DMR ended up looking like a nicely worn in pair of shoes too.
I’m now itching to see the lager sandbox, the one that supports the larger maps
Thank you for the entertainment.
I got to say, although the gameplay by some were horrible the videos were still nice. To bad no one tried to make show the new stuff, like needler action or more DMR so we could see it, then again, everyone plays to win ^^
I think the BR should be a 4sk. It looked pretty weak. Also, anyone think those maps are a little too big for 4v4?
After watching those videos I have to say that the multiplayer looks a lot better then I expected, also in one of the videos David Ellis says “We’re excited to be here at E3 and we’ve been blown away by the response so far, and I just wanna say to everyone out there that they haven’t seen anything yet.”
Hope that means that there are still some big multiplayer reveals that noone will see coming.

…PREDATOR DRONE! Inbound!.

…well…at least I know that appart from loadouts, this is the worst new integration coming from other shooters and being added to Halo
…PREDATOR DRONE! Inbound!.
> I think the BR should be a 4sk. It looked pretty weak. Also, anyone think those maps are a little too big for 4v4?
I agree, but another reason why it looked so weak is because their aim wasn’t too great, and they’re pro. There is far less aim assist in this game, which is great. I thought the maps seemed great, but eh.

Thruster pack is definitely going to put players through a loop, but I can actually see it being more damaging than evade if used right. As for the HLS, I can definitely say that is going to be abused by people underneath another player while they try and get into cover. Heck, I can imagine using that in a uphill Spartan Op’s mission if I have to. It’s reminding me of brutes/elite sin Reach firefight (Beachhead) staying behind the shield jackals till they get dropped and than rushing forward. It’s going to be difficult to counter properly without a grenade in MM…

I actually think its going to be the other way around. Active Camo for familiarity reasons, and then switching to PV to fight off other invisible players. Granted that recharge timer needs to be increased… a lot.

You and I both…

Stop making me agree with you!
Looks good so far. I wish they would use Armor Abilities besides Promethean Vision more. I want to get a good look at how the other ones work (especially to see if Hologram has changed at all).
From watching Neighbor on Adrift, I think I figured out how you get a Distraction Medal. It looks like you get it if an enemy is shooting you and your teammate kills him. I don’t think many people are gonna get this on purpose, though.
Go Blue Team!! I mean, GO TEAM FURY!!!

You know what’s kinda silly?
They’re using PV and therefore don’t need a drone…
