So I was really excited for Halo 4, and I went to the midnight release and picked up my copy for a wopping $60.00.
Cool.
I then find out I need to go out and purchase a flashdrive just to play the game. Okay whatever. An additional 40.00 spent.
So I go home to play, did everything correctly as far as installing with disc 2 and popping the play disc in and starting up the game, and BAM. Every single time I try and join infinity matchmaking it connects me, I see the other players , I vote on a map, it counts down and then my game resets. Takes me back to the beginning sponsors and main menu. Every single time.
I am absolutely 100% connected to xbox live. AND other games like call of duty and borderlands work perfectly fine online.
My player status says “Not joinable”. I have messed around with the settings, making sure I am set up to play online, and that I am connected.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have purchased an entirely new flashdrive thinking this was the problem. I have returned my halo 4 and gotten a different copy. I have tried every single thing I could POSSIBLY think of.
I also am not able to join any of my friends games. It’s infuriating. So much wasted money.
I called xbox support, and waited over an HOUR on the phone with the guy who had no idea what to do to fix the issue, inevitably saying he just didn’t know, and “sorry”.
I have tried installing both discs to the storage device and playing with the play disc. NOPE
I’m just livid at this point. Here I am negative -$120.00 and the game STILL will not play.
I feel helpless. And the worse part is, I have seen several other posts about people complaining of the SAME issue, and have gotten zero replies.
And now it’s saying the disc is unreadable when the disc has zero scratches and is brand NEW.
Several of my friends still can’t play either. And I can’t even access the Waypoint Stats with even 3 web browsers that I use, so I’m not going to be able to take advantage of the Specializations options that were supposed to be available to pre-order Halo customers.
Are you sure there isn’t an issue with your disk drive in the Xbox cause that’s what it sounds like to me. I understand your frustration. I would be pissed as well but towards Microsoft and their horrible hardware.
This may or may not help you, but one day I got disconnected mid-game. I couldn’t join any of my friend’s games. I was connected to XBL and all my games would work except H4. After a little searching around in the menus I found out what happened. So try this:
Hit start to go to the Spartan Hub.
Go to the “Settings & Files” tab.
Click on the “Network” option.
Make sure it’s set to “Xbox Live”.
If it isn’t that then it must be something else. (Maybe if your NAT is strict it would cause something similar to what you’re explaining. It could also be your Xbox is having issues from old age.) You could try installing it to your Xbox’s HDD instead of a flashdrive. I don’t know if that would matter or not. Sorry if that doesn’t work, hopefully 343 will fix this issue. I’ve noticed people posting this same problem.
I returned my copy for a brand new copy and same issue.
I am also connected to xbox live - no issue with NAT either.
I can load 1 map - haven, but any other map and he entire game restarts sending me back to the opening credits. That is until today, where I tried re-installing for the 47th time and now it’s saying the disc is unreadable…
Can you guys try your copies out in an another X360? Maybe you got hardware problems. Try to clean your Xbox. Or could you guys make a video about it? Doesn’t mind about Capture Card or Camera, it’s just need to be visible.
Did you bought a Flash Drive or a HDD? If you bought a HDD, is it for Slim X360 or Standard?
