Here is a list of my cons for h4 multiplayer (and why). not looking for arguments just general discussions/Opinions.
-No ranking system
was one of my favorite things about h3. where/when is it coming for h4??
-VERY frequent black screens
Causes reset of killstreak medals and new ordanance selection if you have not used it yet and is just simply annoying
-1hk secondary (boltshot)
NO loadout weapon should be 1hk and a secondary if anything
-No perfection medal
Getting a perfection medal in h3 was very rewarding and now it is just a commendation?
-Automatic loadout weapons killing too fast up close?
I understand ars have an advantage in this game for being close range but someone that uses only precision weapons such as myself should be able to get more than 2-3 br/dmr shots on a try-hard kid spraying me up close with an ar before dying
Other than these reasons i enjoy h4 multiplayer a lot

I liked the part were you said if a kid was camping and killed you he outplayed you. That is some good logic…

Br is a short-mid range weapon. that situation right there is exactly what i am talking about the kid sprinting up to me with an ar shooting me while i am just finished outskilling another kid with dmr. i know how to play in situations with kids with ars but i am saying when it comes down to go head to head at short-mid range i am am being skilled with a precision weapon while the no-skilled kid can run up to me and kill me in half the ammount of time without trying so then it comes down to damage vs damage so the ar kid wins. and a kid camo in corner with ar is NOT outskilling me i am saying i should have a fair chance when it is short range vs short range and we are shooting eachother at the same time.
I prefer the speed at which automatic weapons kill in this game. You trade difficulty/skill for severely limited range and effectiveness. The skill with using an AR comes with its positioning. I don’t agree with making weapons worthless; everything should have a place.
I agree that automatic weapons should be fair against all other weapons but in their own territory. but its like this.
DMR-mid/long range
BR-short/mid range
Auto-short/mid range
the dmr will win in a long range fight against the br because that is what it is supposed to do where if it is mid range they will have a fair chance of killing eachother in terms of hits and damage.
and when it is br vs ar they should both have a fair chance of killing eachother because they are BOTH short/mid range but that is not the case because the ar will kill you twice as fast if it is someone that knows what they are doing.
and the ar is actually pretty accurate and can shoot pretty far for how large the aimer is.
I won’t call you a BK as asked but the list of issues is much larger than that.
Here are a few of a long list:
- DMR (this is not debatable, it is broke as it stands currently)
- very poor map design and layout (sorry 343 but you need some more practice)
- Armour abilities (tweaks are debatable but jetpack and camo are a definite - I will talk about this a little more below)
- Aim assist (Way to much, also bullet mag on some guns (DMR))
- playlist (yes its being addressed, slowly I might add)
Thats all I got off the top of my head but the list is longer.
So onto the “discuss below” stuff
-Map design currently is atrocious. I have talked about this plenty with many forgers (good ones) and we all agree default maps are very far below par. Some examples of this are solace and complex being the worst. Solace creates very strange gameplay usually caused by the general map design. Complex has “The Roof”. The one spot that locks down the entirety of the map. That is bad btw.
-armour abilities. Some of them are balanced such as regen field. Ones like jetpack and thrusters being the most powerful. Jetpack is the completely broken one. Destroying any kind of vertical map patching, and cover. “oh your behind that wall and if I walk around the corner I will die. Don’t worry, up I go where I shoot down only hitting your head and you shoot at my feet.” I would love to see team based AA’s rather than personal, but thats me.

but i do agree with you on the aa topic and map design and with the aa some people like it and some people dont and some are just way overused. but they do all have their own pros and cons for the most part like jetpack gets used up very fast and recharges slow. but these reasons are EXACTLY why they need to return the slayer pro/mlg playlist which i have no idea why they took it out.

How is this in anyway a con?

Please don’t blame the DMR for the BR and Carbine’s poor design flaws.
It is the BR that is broken not the DMR.
The complete Randomness in PODs is terrible…
They should be tiered or structured in a way that is fair

Thought I was the only one who hated those maps with the passion of a thousand burning suns. If I’m on blue team when playing Exile and get to the tank first with no competition, it is a guarantee that I will get at least 30 kills that round as I have every time I’ve gotten my hands on that tank. It is not a map where a tank should be IMO, instead guass warthogs should be given to both teams.
Things I don’t like:
-no ranks
means no incentive to keep playing
-the idea of loadouts.
Halo’s always been a game where everyone spawned on equal playing fields… well at least up until Reach. I get the feeling Halo changed to a class based system only because about every other FPS is doing the same. No loadouts is an important part of Halo’s multiplayer identity that desperately needs to be restored
-bloom/spread
I know they’re both pretty minimal in this game, but what’s the point of either of these at this point? can we have primary rifles where the bullets go where you shot them, like in H1 and H2 plz? no spread>minimal spread
-ordnance
this really ruins the balance of the whole game… getting power weapons is almost pure luck. An incineration cannon can fall out of the sky right at someones feet at almost any moment. And after just a few minutes, more than half of the players on the field have a power weapon of some sort.
If these 4 things were fixed, I’d be on this game 5x more often
