Halo 4 mp

Really?

Leveling progression system?
Unlockable attachments?
Loadouts?

The good thing is the return of the BR with ACOG scope apparently and no reticule bloom. But that doesn’t outweigh the absolute slap in the face that is all these Call of Duty elements being thrown onto a game that doesn’t need them.

Trying to appeal to casuals, and kids with the leveling system. (Why not bring back 1-50 ranked playlists?) Someone who plays more than me, but is not even close to being better than me can now have a higher level and better weapons?

What a joke.

I actually honestly believed 343 could bring this game back to at least somewhat resemble Halo.

The fact that Halo is my favorite game series, it’s sad to see it finally roll over and die. Over 25,000 games played on Halo 3. Not even 500 on Reach. That says enough. Somehow 343 actually managed to further worsen Halo’s multiplayer.

Unless there’s a playlist where there’s no loadouts, attachtments, and a real leveling system I’m not sure I will spend much time on this game. Sadly, I will buy this game, because it’s Halo. (well it says Halo)

I just wanted to express my disappointment from a veteran player, and concerned fan in the lack of a Halo revival, and the continuation of the franchises burial.

I guess I’ll stick to Halo 3, and hold out hope for Halo 5.

Here’s to campaign!

Most of us bask in the warm glow of progress, but it seems for some that the light of new things burns them instead.

Welcome to waypoint.

Why people keep parroting this “CoD” comparison when Frankie went out of his way to refute it before it started (read any of the interviews from today) is a mystery to me. Apparently, because CoD has done anything along those lines, it’s blasphemy for Halo to incorporate features that might be similar - though again, is was explicitly denied. What a preposterous notion!

I love how much better Halo 4 looks when in comparison to Reach, especially since this look is still WIP. It’s nice to know Halo will still graphically update with each incarnation as apposed to COD which is a cookie cutter copy and paste released every year game.

As for gameplay I got a huge Halo 3 vibe from this video which excites me. I did have some fun with Reach for a time and the title update helped make that possible but from what I’ve seen so far Halo 4 will blow Halo Reach away.

How about you retype this after Halo 4 comes out because right now you can’t judge it for being like COD when you’ve never played the game yet.

What are you talking about? I love the direction 343’s taking. Plus we get to be S-IVs in mp.

Progress?

Halo 2 to Halo 3 was progress. They added some things, got rid of some things, but kept the core basics of what made Halo special, and fun from every other FPS.

Then Reach came along.

and now I’m not so sure Halo 4 will be better than Reach now. There’s still plenty of time, and I hope someone like Frankie comes to their senses. I will always hold out hope, just because I refuse to accept that Halo isn’t special anymore. I wont accept that it will probably never be HALO ever again.

Halo 3 is my favorite game of all time, it was only to be followed up by the -Yoink!- of the franchise that was Reach, and I’ve been waiting for a year to hear how Halo 4 is going back to the roots of Halo, only to be let down again.

Trust me, there is not any other game I’d rather play than a decent Halo game for the next 2-3 years like I did with 2 and 3. But, sadly Halo is turning into a shell of it’s former self.

It honestly hurts me inside.

But what can you do? This is all I can do. Express, cry, yell, and scream for a change that will never happen. Post threads in a forum that won’t even be read by anyone important. But I’ll try. Because I care, because I want to like this game.

It did feel like more of a spiritual successor to Halo 3, which I think a lot of people (casual and competitive) will appreciate. Of course, this was from glimpses and snippets (and sprint did manage to sneak in there, which I hope is a universal capability and not some add-on).

as long as there are some sweet customizing armors i trust them

Frankie said that you will have FULL customizable ability of your spartan. YAAAAYYY!!!

Um.

  1. Every Game that shoots projectiles has bloom as not every single shot hits.

  2. I fail to see how the reticule showing the bloom has an affect on it being there or not.

someone clearly doesn’t understand what they are talking about in that department.

Go stand still and spam the RT button at someone with the BR in Halo 2, or 3. Then do it in Reach with the DMR and tell me it’s the same.

That says enough.

Not really, my point is they are definitely not the same. Did you ever play any Halo’s before Reach? It’s very apparent the effect reticule bloom had on making the DMR a completely random gun unless you timed your shots. (which isn’t always an option in close combat, etc.) The BR never had that problem. Sniper rifle too.

I never had a problem with what the Armor Abilities were. What I didn’t like was the ability to spawn with them because people just abused them this way. Had the abilities been treated like equipment from Halo 3 there would have been less complaints.

So if the Jet Pack, Armor Lock, Sprint, etc return but as pick up items ala Halo 3 there should be no problem. Although in the case of Sprint I would like it to be standard.

Yep, AA’s were awful. Bubble Shields, Health Regenerations, etc. worked fine in H3.

As for sprint, I’d rather it not just because Halo should already be a fast paced game, but it’s nothing I’d flip out over, I’d welcome it.

That was the entire point so people aren’t spamming shots like they did with the BR, which you just pretty much admitted to doing. There is nothing wrong with how the BR operates, you are just mad that you actually have to take your time while shooting instead of spamming because you know it will hit.

Nope, I didn’t spam it all unless the situation called for it. Good job disproving your own point you began with though. The bloom wasn’t the same as previous Halo’s. Which was the point I was making, when you claimed it was. And now said it wasn’t.

I was slightly baffled at Frankie trying to create a backstory for a red team vs blue team lore to the MP. It doesn’t particularly seem a good use of resources, considering the sheer ridiculousness of things that can happen in competitive MP. No amount of canon is going to explain the fact I was splattered by my team’s own EMPed Falcon just as I reached the Pelican in Invasion.

Where did they say there would be unlockable attatchments?
