Halo 4 MP Map Hopes

Halo 4 better have a lot of MP maps. I want maps that are huge and have a lot of combat options. I want maps that have a good range of vehicles with the perfect balance of spartan and machine. I wish they have a scorpion tank in some of the maps and Gauss warthogs. They haven’t included a lot on reach because thay are overpowering. I hope they make it right.

I like the way the maps for Halo 4 are looking. Not pulled from campaign, Built with competitive in mind, and built from the ground up. Sounds good to me.

Hopefully there are more MP maps on release than there was for Halo Reach.

I hope for Halo 4 that total remakes and spiritual successors are kept to a minimum. Allow 343 to create their own memorable classics. Otherwise, that will say they prefer riding the glory of Bungies classics instead of having originality.

That said, its looking good so far. I wasn’t a fan of copy pasted maps from Reach. I can’t believe they thought we should have been excited for that during one of the Reach vid docs.

I hope some great maps as well!

Side Note: Multiplayer maps were made first then implemented in Reach Campaign. Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure that is how it was done.

Yea, REACH had like almost no maps that wheren’t cut from campaign. The only original ones they had where of the NOBLE and DEFIANT map packs which no one played anymore after like… a month, not even. It was a real shame, and the forge maps where lame.

I hope the… oh god what’s the word I’m looking for… asymmetrical maps are better in H5. I get tired of symmetrical maps being played all the time, but I really feel like the asymmetrical maps are one sided and favor a specific team winning (High Ground, Boneyard, etc). I hope that gets fixed. The two maps they have showed us look real nice.

Remake:
Turf
Terminal
Colossus
Elongation
Lockout
Sidewinder
Construct
The Pit
Wizard
Citadel
Battle Creek
Ascension
Foundation
Ivory Tower
Headlong
Chill out

Then come out with 3 map packs

Map Pack 1:
Hang Em’ High
Damnation
Epitah
Desolation

Map Pack 2:
Gemini
Snowbound
Rat Race
Relic

Map Pack 3:
Midship
Tombstone
Zanzibar
Bloodgulch

You’re already ruining Halo 4 don’t leave the maps up to chance with your own designs, we already know you don’t know how to make a game we don’t need more proof of that.

Bungie employees are part of 343i. They know how to make maps.

lol no.

I can count on one hand how many ex Bungie employees are working for 343. There isn’t many and only like one, maybe two has MP experience.

I really hope 343i never listens to people like you. I don’t want to keep playing remade maps. I want a set of brand new maps. I want 343i to make maps that the community wants a remake off of in future halos. Like someone said in an earlier post, 343i shouldn’t just ride off of bungies glory. Im fine with remakes, more specifically H3 remakes, in DLCs but not on the original disk.

Halo: Reach. Nuff said.

Even the Bungie employees of 343 couldn’t be trusted with map design, I think Frankie speaks for the Bungie employee’s enough by being one of the main reasons for the new changes. Something went majorly wrong after Halo 3.

Bungie suffered Halo fatigue and wanted to move on after 3? That’s my guess.

Though it didn’t help that Sage Merril wanted to turn Reach into Shadowrun >.> The latter was a good competitive game, light on everything else though where as Halo was already an established name that sold millions with it’s deep universe and addictive MP.

Fanbase( at the time) was also responsible for the way Reach turned out but i’d to make an different thread for that.

Trying to turn Halo into something it wasn’t saw strafes, movement speeds and moon jumps getting nerfed in Reach. The poor implementations of new ideas is what hurt Reach for many fans and it’s because of said ideas everything else got nerfed and kill times increased.

Sage isn’t working for 343 and i hope never does. So call be naive/optimistic but it’s a new team for 343. I’ll give them a shot.

In a Halo article, it mentioned weapon drops from the sky in maps to prevent power weapons from spawning in the same spot. How will it work on an indoor map? Will they not just drop in pods and just spawn on the ground, or do you think they have something cool for indoor weapon drops? There will be alot of holes in the roof. :stuck_out_tongue:

map designed for the use of AA’s AS WELL AS maps designed for gameplay without them. Good big team maps and some arena style maps with another set of medium size maps.

They will spawn within the maps boundaries. It’s not limited by enclosed areas.

These ordnance drops can smash and kill you as they drop though.

i just hope that BTB maps don’t have nearly as much dead space as they did in reach. if you didn’t have a vehicle for the most part you when you spawned you were screwed, cuz someone was either coming with one, there was half team taking turns spamming you from up high, or you just had to run forever until either one of the other options happened to you. just because iota big team doesn’t mean that the maps have to be all vehicle based. I’ve played some forged maps and forged some maps that have no vehicles but work great for BTB.

I’m hoping that there’s a good mix in Halo 4. I miss maps like High Ground, Sandbox, and Standoff where they were medium sized but still supported vehicles. Halo Reach also lacked good BTB maps, none of them came close to Sandbox/Avalance/Valhalla

I want the maps to be artistic, functional, and fun.

I would like a new variant of Forge World in Halo 4
