Halo 4 Movement/Motion

I think Halo 4’s movement speed should be increased greatly, but with care.

They haven’t done SPARTAN’s justice in the past games.
My speed and Jump height suggestions are based on Reach’s settings.

For Halo 4, speed should be 120% of Reach’s, with a bonus of 10% when the left stick is clicked forward. This would reduce the need for sprint as an Armor Ability.

*As a replacement of evade, I was thinking of this: You see a rocket Flying right at your face, in a split second, you Crouch, point and click your left stick to the right and you press A to jump, and you perform a Roll to the right and you avoid the Rocket, but the Explosive Radius damages your shields.

Now as for Jump height.
Based on Reach jump height, Halo 4’s should be 120% for a standard jump.

  • Now as something that could replace Portable gravlifts…
You see an Enemy cross a Bridge above you, you decide to follow him.
You jump once, but alas you cannot reach the Bridge, you hit the ground, but now you hold the A button for 3 Seconds and your Jump will be increased by 15%. You make it on top of the Bridge, and you see the enemy on a Slightly lower ledge. You jump regularly but you notice your feet wont catch, don’t worry, you actually use your arms and you grab the ledge and pull yourself up. The Enemy isn’t paying attention and you assassinate him.(Halo 4 Style)

*Something else, When you Sprint Jump, you don’t Jump Higher, you jump way farther, like a long jump. And when you just when are running and you see some people hiding behind Cover, you run and Jump over the Cover regularly but you have increased Turn speed and mobility, you could shoot one guy and kill him, and you might be able to to kill the guy if he is slow or you are faster.

Well before you start assuming this is all in one package, only part of this actually has to happen before some of it would fix the existing problems.
I was Inspired by Crysis 2 to include the Ledge grab and Jump mobility.

I can sense this thread fading away.
But more stuff,
*Also if you jump off a really high place, you can use your shields as an Air foil to wing suit down to safety without dying form fall damage. Proof of shield Manipulation for Mk. VII Armor is in Halsey’s journal.

Your senses are correct young grasshoper.

While the idea of incorporating jump height sounds good, in practise I think it will either never get used, as you will basically be a sitting duck, or it will be overused greatly and the whole idea of multiple levels might be affected.

Remember, the game is designed around this setting not the other way around, they wouldn’t make it they way we are used to, it would be normally incorporated in different maps.
