Halo 4 more desired than CoD on 360 - Nielsen

A new report shows that Xbox 360 owners actually have been anticipating the next Halo even more than Black Ops II

Xbox 360 has long been considered the home of the shooter, and while Master Chief at one time dominated all on the platform, in recent years, the dominant shooter franchise has unquestionably been Call of Duty. It’s with some surprise, therefore, that we see a new Nielsen Game Rank report for Q4 2012 indicating that Xbox 360 consumers are actually anticipating Halo 4 even more than Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

The 99 percent game rank on Nielsen’s chart (based on data collected during the past month) means that “Halo 4 on Xbox 360 is performing better in overall aggregated US consumer anticipation than 99 percent of all previous Xbox 360 titles at the same point in their release cycles.” Granted, Black Ops II also sits at 99 percent, and Nielsen said it’s only 0.25 percent behind, so the difference is indeed very, very slim. Also, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed III ranks quite high with 98 percent.

The true judge on Xbox 360 to see whether Halo 4 or Call of Duty wins out will not only be sales, but Xbox Live usage stats. We’ll keep an eye on those this holiday season.

On the PS3, it’s interesting to note that the most anticipated games do not include any exclusives, other than LittleBigPlanet Karting, which just made it at #10. As for the Wii, it’s no shock to see that dance and fitness games continue to drive the Nintendo platform.

Big surprise, a 360 exclusive is more wanted on the 360 than a multi-platform game???
Who would’ve thought?

This.

Aside from the fact that this as been brought up a few different times today in various other threads, I will say that It is refreshing to see Halo back on top. Even if it is just a fleeting moment.

That’s awesome news.

CoD black ops shouldn’t be more anticipated, it’s the SAME THING as every other CoD.

I agree, but let’s not start a flame war about CoD on a Halo forum. Trying to keep this community clean and flame-free. :stuck_out_tongue:

My only wish is that Halo take back its rightful throne.

Hahah agreed. But a CoD fan boy should not be on these forums any way !!! trying to infiltrate this fortress is impossible because we are die-hard fans of Halo hahahahah

Great for Halo.

I’m looking forward to both games.

Good always prevails over Evil

Might Get a bit of hate for this but COD isn’t evil;) just in the fact that it doesn’t change its formula (Gameplay etc) due to it being popular in the COD community, I Still see it selling more (any COD game does every year, keeps breaking its previous records) But I still see Halo being the better game due to the New Features/Maps etc. it has…

… Like the Return of Valhalla!;D

Who would’ve thought we were talking about Call of Duty? Only the most dominant game of this generation…
