Halo 4 MM Getting Small Maps

This was tweeted by lead designer Brad Welch today.
Let’s just hope that these small maps are good.

“Brad Welch ‏@bradford_welch
Since folks asked, we’re actively working on getting more smaller maps into #halo4 matchmaking. More details as the time gets closer.”

“Brad Welch ‏@bradford_welch
Not talking Forge maps in matchmaking yet but it’s obviously an option we have to widen map variety on top of the DLC packs.”

What do you think? Excited?

Oh, I read on the forums here that 343 doesn’t listen to us because, “they already have our money”

What a shock that that isn’t true.

P.S:

They were always listening to us.

And i thought 343i didn’t listen?

Lol, Most people on this forum complain just for the sake of it,
this is great news, i do like the bigger maps, but some smaller maps would be perfect ;D

refuse to vote, because they were listening to from the start.

Glad they said that it’s coming. I’ll be happy once/if the maps actually do get added to mm. I won’t forget how they spend at least a year saying that halo 4 still plays like halo and that they didn’t really look at COD when making this game.

This!
For people complaining about this and that, 343i IS listening to us. Just because they don’t personally respond to every complaint doesn’t mean they haven’t been listening. There are things that need to be fixed, and it will take time. Also, Certain Affinity came out with this response to the complaints about Forge on YouTube:

"Thanks for your message and your passion for Forge and Halo. You are never ignored.

Something that I wanted to share with you is that we are partners with 343i and co-developers with them for Forge and Multiplayer, but 343 is a separate company than Certain Affinity. 343i owns the rights and all decision-making authority for the Halo franchise.

I understand that there is frustration within the community about game types as you’re stating here, and that pages of the Waypoint forum have been devoted to. Trust me that 343i is monitoring all of this, even if they might not be responding publicly as much as the community would like. As the game’s product cycle evolves, the game types will also likely evolve with it. They are listening and working on ways to serve the community the best that they can.

I know that this might not ease your frustration about the current state of game types, but know that this issue is being communicated upward, that 343i wants to take care of its community, and they will make changes based on the community’s feedback.

Thanks again for your message,
Certain Affinity"

Whether or not people still are hesitant on trusting 343i and Certain Affinity, I’m willing to be optimistic. Hopefully everyone else will too, and if they can’t, then their loss because I’m enjoying what I’ve got.

Confused. What is he talking about then? BTB maps with barriers? Seems unlikely. Re-using campaign/SO maps?

And why not Forge? Just put in Relay already. Anyways, about time. Happy to see anything new. I’m sick of playing the same 5 maps. Halo 4 has the lowest number of small launch maps in the series. =(

It doesn’t matter to me wither they be small maps, or large maps. What matters is that they are listening and responding to the community. Kudos to 343.

You know, there’s a difference between actually listening to the community and telling us there listening right?

Look, I’m glad someone has finally mentioned a big issue but keep in mind it was a tweet.

>ppl argue this means 343 actually listen to us
>still haven’t fixed the ability to set spawns other than instant which would take literally one press of a little button.
>also he didn’t specify when, and I doubt it will be this dec 10th.

Maybe these maps will finally get people to shut the F up about “how bad this game is”.

Maps being a major issue right now, we really need something bigger than just a tweet.

I’ll tweet them asking if they can roll out a red carpet and play trumpets for you, everytime you want to know something.

The tweets still give me a small ray of hope.

People should relax and be patient. Complaining about them announcing/stating/responding with a tweet is the pointless. They are not going to make every little boy’s dream come true, but at least they are taking note of some serious issues. One being that people want more maps/smaller maps. Again, relax and practice patience.

How about a nice Bulletin that informs everyone in the community that they are working on Major issues.

Not everyone is stalking each 343 employee’s twitter.

Now please get off your knees.

Someone keep a copy of the above responses from 343 and certain affinity. Every time someone complains that they don’t listen, paste them as a response.

I actually don’t have a twitter. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

They do include messages that they will continue to work on issues in the bulletin.

I’m standing and dancing.

Very exciting, this game is fun but playing the same maps over and over again get old fast. It makes me happy to hear that there are smaller maps being worked on.

I’m excited!
