Does anyone like how they changed it from Halo 2/3? I personally prefer the multiplayer version, or the legendary version. Not so keen on Chief’s.
Not really, the older one is more iconic. And it’s VI, not IV.
I don’t remember ever having Mark IV…
Sorry for the title error. I’m tired. And Chief’s new helmet will become more iconic as the series progresses.
What I don’t understand is why, in the beginning cutscene, are pre-Battle of Reach Spartan-IIs in post-H3 Mk VI armor? Not only was the Mk VI not even out yet, but I thought it was explained that the Chief’s Mk VI armor evolved from its appearance in H3 to H4 via nanobots. The Spartan-IIs are wearing this same armor. Did I miss something?

Yeah, consistency is hard apparently.

Stuff like that really takes me out of the story.
i like both versions and im kind of leaning towards the H4 version just because it looks much more functional and mobile whereas the older one(although amazing and iconic) seems big and clunky comparatively.

I really don’t understand why they didn’t use the prologue to explain what happened between Halo 3 and 4.

Because surely everybody reads the books.

They had to establish that Chief is mentally unstable so that it ties in with Cortana’s descent into rampancy, that’s how I see it. But yeah, what you said would’ve been a better use for it.
I’m fine with the Chief’s new armor, I dislike that they gave it to him with no explanation.
Would it have been so hard to wait until after you reach the Infinity to get it? They could have had him refit into Gen2 armor after he reached them.
Personally though I’m like everyone else, and partial to the Legendary Armor, the more iconic Mark VI.
I prefer Chief’s new armor, it has a more functional look to it. I compare it to the recent Batman movies and how Batman went from the suit he wore in Begins to the one in The Dark Knight.
The new armor covers less though, and for a guy getting shot all the time, more armor is better.
