At the end when John activates the Nuke, Cortana protects him then leaves him floating in space. Surely he would die from the Radiation from the Nuke?
It’s best not to think about it.
Or does the suit protect him from radiation. Must be quite an expensive suit to do that. Only if we could do that today the Chernobyl cleanup would be a walk in the park.
I’m pretty sure the suit protects against radiation.
Besides, there are a lot bigger plot holes in Halo 4 besides that. Such as the highly trained Elite Zealots having to go to scavenged/rundown/piratey gear even though they would probably know how to upkeep their armor and wouldn’t have lost their old, better armor suits.
Also, Elites and Promethean Knights for some reason don’t have shields in Spartan Ops cutscenes, don’t employ any strategy or tactics, are all dumb compared to Spartans, and punch/move/fight considerably slower than ever described in the canon/novels and are terrible at it too.
Also, Master Chief lost his flashlight and Covenant translator when Cortana used nanobots that somehow were on the Forward Unto Dawn(Which somehow managed to transform into a different ship class) and “upgraded” his armor. Oddly enough the scars and damage on Chief’s armor transferred to his “upgraded” and “repaired” Cortana armor.
Honestly, it’s best just to go with Space Magic.

it’s just for storytelling, if they stood around for a while shooting at Knights/Elites, wouldn’t be to entertaining would it?

This
Do they ever explicitly say its a nuke? It could just be a very powerful bomb, without radioactivity. They call it a “havoc mine,” and I was under the impression they are used for excavation. Maybe I’m wrong though…
The zealots in halo 4 wear Hesduros Zealot… Doesn’t seem like a scavenged thing to me.
Promethean/Sangheili shields and stuff, okay.
The forward unto dawn is a Charon-class light frigate. It’s design was just retconned. The translation just wasn’t active then… And Cortana switched to a mark IV armour designed with the nanobots in his armour. Did no one hear that some people like scars? Cortana let the scar there for emotional reasons likely.

they aren’t highly trained elites, the storm covenant are like a militia. In other words, they aren’t the organized covenant that were present before. Don’t you pay attention?

idk why people keep bringing this up lately -_- the spartan ops cutscenes are meant to be short, and to the point. Obviously they aren’t going to be the 5 minute fights you’re used to seeing in the campaign. It’s just to get the point across that the UNSC beat the storm covenant in those little fights.
I’m sure if there was a full fledged halo movie you would see the more in depth fights between the two.
God I hate going over this over and over again.
It is an entire new class of Covenant, afterall. Plus, if the Knights and Elites were quicker, the game would be “too hard” for most on Legendary or even Heroic and people would whine etc etc etc.
All video games are this way when compared to books etc, I think.
Just like the end of SpOps wouldn’t the infinity crew have all gotten cancer or died because they were so close to a freaking sun!?!
And that for all their tech, covie healthcare is at best, removing someone’s arm?( not exactly space magic, but seriously?)

That is a serious cop out then. They can’t figure out how to make a cutscene without making all the enemies have the abilities of a Storm Trooper?
I’d much rather watch an actual firefight where they employ tactics and thinking, rather than run into a room guns blazing and kill everything in one shot without taking any damage. Halo isn’t meant to be attracted to children and dumb everything down to do so, this is an M rated game.

His armor would be pretty awful if it didn’t provide NBC shielding. Which I’m almost 100% sure it does, so he’d be fine.

So, I take it that they found the only Elites in their entire Warrior-focused civilization that weren’t warriors? They aren’t the organized Covenant, but they are still from the Covenant and still worship the Forerunners, with the exception of Jul who doesn’t think of them as gods. They are a remnant that has banded together to fight Humanity, they are not like a militia. A militia is normally a group of citizens that bands together and has little combat experience, all Elites train from a young age to be warriors.
The Zealots from Halo 4 likely didn’t just get lucky and pull the longest straw at the first meeting they had. If there is any sense in this new Halo lore, the Zealots under Jul’s command are Zealots from the old Covenant who have joined him.
How about we just show a big UNSC banner waving in the background with a picture of Master Chief kicking the Covenant off of Halo? I mean, that’s short and to the point. Humanity wins and kicks everyone’s butt, cause 'murika! I refer to my previous post if you have any more questions.
