Halo 4 Missing Armour

Hello! I’m a little new to this forum, but I’m rather popular on Bungie.net, so I know how forums work. Anyways, I’ve noticed a lot of armour from Halo 4 is actually missing. Here is my analysis.

First off, the Soldier armour is missing the leg pieces.

Concept art.

Not convinced? Here’s a high-res, 3D model from Liquid Development, the company responsible for the 3D models of the Spartan IVs. Look at the leg armour. It’s not featured in the final version of the game. The forearm armour is missing too, but I’ll get to that later.

Further investigation of the Solider armour set shows that the forearms depicted in the above render are actually separate from the Recruit forearms that were cut from the final version of Halo 4.

Another great example of missing armour is the GUNGNIR forearms.

Here is the concept art. Got a good look of the forearms? Alright. Here’s another reference.

And two more for good measure.

This next one isn’t exactly missing armour (I do believe it is returning in the “Champions Bundle” DLC, coming August 20th), but it’s still worth noting. Remember the early version of the Orbital armour? You know, the one without the skull on it?

In case you didn’t, here’s a reminder.

And three more renders to get it into your head.

Looks awesome, doesn’t it?

Now, here’s another example of what’s missing.
Shocker, I know.

This one, I can live without, but it would be nice for it to make an appearance. It’s the missing leg armour for the “Recon” armour set. Here’s a reference, if you’re not sure.

Not convinced? Here’s both the Recon and Soldier armour’s missing leg protection. Worn by DeMarco (Soldier) and Madsen (Recon). I personally love the Solider leg armour.

Now, if you look at any Liquid Development render (or, any other picture of the armour sets), you may have noticed the forearm armour. It isn’t featured in the game. That forearm armour is actually the recruit forearm, but for some odd reason, it was cut from the game. Here’s the recruit full armour set:

See? The “Recruit” forearms we see in the game today are actually the “Warrior” forearms. Look.

If you look at any other armour set (aside from armour sets with respective forearms, like Scout or FOTUS) they are actually using the default “Recruit” forearms that currently aren’t featured in-game. Here’s a few examples.

Recruit: http://www.halopedia.org/images/0/0f/MJOLINIR_Recruit.png

These are just a few examples.

Don’t fret, though. In the upcoming DLC, we should see an appearance from the “Recruit” set, with the “Ricochet” armour set.
Here’s what I’m talking about. Notice how, compared to the other photos with the same forearms, it has a different coloir pattern? It may be a different skin for the “Recruit” forearms.

You may be saying

> But Jack, maybe it’s just like the other photos. It doesn’t actually include the forearms with the DLC.

Here’s the first-ever screenshot of the “Recruit” forearms in-game: http://www.halopedia.org/images/3/37/Ricochet_armor.jpg

So, I think it’s safe to say that we’ll be getting them with the armour set.

If you are interested in what comes with the “Champions bundle” DLC, so am I. They are still skimping on what actually comes with it, but so far, they’ve released the majority of the items. Here’s the Waypoint bulletin that talks about the majority of what’s featured in the DLC. Notice how mysterious they are about what armour gets the new skins? Yeah, me too. There have also been photos of new skins for the weapons that 343 didn’t talk about in that Bulletin. So, it leads me to believe that we are actually going to get more than promised. Yay!

Anyways, I hope you found this helpful.

If you could, what armour would you place into Halo 4 (from the photos above)? For me, it’s definitely the Soldier leg pieces. They just look painfully cool. Plus, Soldier is my favourite armour set, and DeMarco is my favourite S-IV.

Cheers.

PS: Am I doing it right?

Don’t know why they didn’t include “soldier” and “recon” leg armor. They both look better than what we have now besides “outer-plated”.

I’ve definitely noticed all of this as well, I ever made a thread about it months ago. However, I’m glad that more people are starting to be aware of this removed content, since it definitely isn’t cool on 343i’s part to have made all of this stuff, only to leave it out of the game. Maybe, if we make enough noise, we could see the return of these armours in-game? After all, DLC armour is possible, as we know, so the idea isn’t completely far-fetched!

Wow, good work bro. I knew about the forearms for a while but didn’t bother making a thread about it. You, on the other hand, went all out and discovered every armor conspiracy known to man! And by the way, BS Angel revealed the armors in some random post.

Enforcer
Oceanic
Defender
Venator
Infiltrator

Are the 5 reskinned armors. It seems as though 343 forgot to officially announce them. Especially considering that BS Angel randomy answered some guy about them as if it was already common knowledge… Those missing legs look so cool though… I kind of hope you’re right, regardess of how likely it is.

PS: You aren’t the only one discovering conspiracies revolving around the Champions Bundle

Hopefully 343 will suprise us.

Halo 4 is a incomplete game like the others before it (pretty much a rushed game). A lot of good stuff that would have made a difference was cut out before launch. Including armor, but good find my friend.

So many holes in the armors. I’m displeased with how they did this.

I remember reading about the specially made legs and arms. It’s a shame that the gugnir arms aren’t coming out though.

My thought on the 5 skins is that they simply weren’t done when the DLC was announced. We saw everything initially but then 343 backtracked a bit on the weapon skins and changed them from the original preview image. Getting the maps and the new armor variants done probably was the biggest priority in addition to balancing the new game type. Skins of pre-existing models was likely lower on the list.

The concept art looks better than most of what was in game.
