The main problem here is that 343 will have to take an already defined title and pit it up against current/future FPS titles such as “Call of Duty”. Reach seemed rather short lived versus the excitement and enthusiasm online gamers had for Halo 3. My question is, “How will the engine affect Halo 4? Will it be more like Halo 3 or more like Reach?”
I would venture to say that Halo 4 would try to be like Halo 4. You know, new game Devs and all, different ideas, multiplayer formulas, etc, etc.
It will be a success. It may not be as much as a success as Halo 3 was, but it will be a success nonetheless. The engine to me doesn’t matter because it looks beautiful and better than any Halo I’ve seen yet.
I played it at comicon, and well, I can safely assure you teabagging is back to it’s former (h3) glory.

If it were a new game, they should really change the name of the game than. This is definitely not a continuation of halo 2 and 3 for gameplay wise.
Well, Halo 4 already has 555,000 preorders.
Assuming that 200,000 of those are LE, and the other 350,000 are standard…
The game has already sold $41,000,000, and it is still almost 3 months out from release. I don’t think Halo is going to fail by any means.

In multiplayer? no.
In Campaign? Yes.
And that’s all that matters title wise.

Sure forget the story elements the weapons the characters the enemy’s and call it something else cause it doesn’t play like halo 2 or 3. But I mean it’s totally nothing like halo at all what so ever…you sir are a genius.
/sarcasm
It’s a direct continuation of halo 3. Get over yourselves with your cry baby attitudes cause it’s changing. I mean heaven forbid if 343 try’s to liven up this dying series. Arena shooters are dead you can either move on or just not buy the game either way I’ll be having fun come November 6

Thank the gaming gods!!

It is still very similiar to previous Halos. Get power weapons and control the map. They are just mixing things up a little.
Also campaign makes it a Halo game…
Of course it may fail.
But that’s what John said about going to America: We may fail. No one listened to him, and they went on, and look at America today.

Why on earth would they change the name !!!
Its a continuation from Halo 3 same MC, stillgameplay wise a FPS like Halo 1,2,3, ODST and Reach.

Then why did they call Halo Wars Halo, and everyone was fine with it?
Your title is highly misleading as you don’t give any facts or argument as to why it will fail. Halo 4 is halo 4. Not halo 1-3, not reach, not cod. I don’t see why people bash news that just came out. You make pointless threads on your opinion that you haven’t really thought out.
For the sake of the Trilogy, I actually hope it does fail, after reading the details on the “Perks” It is clear to me that this game will be a sickly unbalanced mess, You simply cannot balance a game the revolves around what’s going into this game, don’t throw Insults at me, anyone with half a Brain knows that “Balance” is totally out of the equation.
If it does fail, Perhaps they’ll learn, and some of the atrocities that are going into this Game might actually be removed, and then 343 can push forward the “Dead” genre that is FPS and actually be innovative. The Genre has now become a rotten cesspool of Class-Perk based shooters, 343 aren’t innovating, they’re simply joining in on the Band wagon of today’s very Generic shooters. It’s the same with all MMO producers, rather than being innovative, they simply try to copy WoW, and make out it to be a WoW killer, and it fails every time, the MMO genre is stuck in the mighty grip of WoW as are FPS games stuck in the “follow the trend of all modern shooters”

Halo games do not last as long as they do because of the campaign. The company should have stuck with what worked considering you can clearly see how halo 2 and 3 completely dominated reach when it comes to longevity.
Every game has a chance to fail. Its the unfortunate reality of everything, but we will never know until we have Halo 4 in our hands on November 6th.

It’s because back then Halo was the only good console FPS out there. Today there are many more games out there.

I reckon Halo 4 beats both those games in both aspects. Halo 4 looks truly amazing.

Yes, that played a factor, but h2 and 3 still would have surpassed it in terms of quality.
