We learned through a Best Buy representative on Thursday that “Halo 4” for the Xbox 360 will go on sale Sunday, Feb. 3 for a stunningly low price. "Halo 4" will have its price dropped from $59.99 all the way down to just $19.99 from Sunday through Saturday at Best Buy according to the information we received. It was listed at that more at a third of its regular price along with “Borderlands” and “Grand Theft Auto IV”. We were initially skeptical and asked the representative to confirm that this will indeed be the price. “It is! This is what Best Buy gave us,” was the response. This same representative clued us in on deals in previous weeks that even the popular deal sites did not know about. "Halo 4" was released on Nov. 6, 2012 but did not see any of the ultra-low Black Friday prices from competing products such as “Borderlands 2”. It’s hard to figure out if the drastic slashing is due to slowing sales of the Xbox franchise title or just a rare boost during the typically slow month of February. Either way, this is a boon for those looking to get their “Halo” in on the cheap. Update: We are seeing people skeptical of the information above and, well, we agree! We have a hard time believing it ourselves which is why we put “may” in the title. It’s very possible that the Best Buy representative was passed incorrect information and this $20 offer is for something like “Halo: Reach” or “Halo Wars” instead. We’ll keep an eye out for any additional information that may confirm or contradict the information that was provided to us.
We’ll know the truth tomorrow but if it DOES happen, is this a sign of things to come? I remember GoW3 (which I loved) didn’t do as well and then within 6 months, all the season pass content was put out and if there was any more content, it was cancelled. The game would then go on to be sparsely updated before it seems like it’s ignored altogether. What do you guys think?
It’s not like some parts of the community didn’t say this was coming. I won’t say we told you so but from what I can see this game is starting to look un-salvageable.

It is salvageable, but it won’t be done. Loadouts will stay, rank won’t be in game, theater will stay crippled and most likely customs. Jip will stay and as well as insta-spawn and ordnance.
Microsoft- Rolling in money and ignoring everything about Halo 4 anymore.
Yeah, Halo 4 did its job which is sell, not make the fans happy. This is what happens when Microsoft gets involved with Halo and has complete control over it.

That’s what I mean - it has the potential to be salvaged but as more time passes by the less likely it will be updated. Too much time has passed for this game the turn the population in its favour.
Ive been seeing some stuff about best buy closing some stores this could be a way to get some revenue comeing in I hope best buy dosent close down i depend on them for good gameing deals.

Microsoft has always had complete control over Halo, cry some more.
> $20? That must mean that Halo 4 is the worst game ever! /sarcasm
^ Not saying a damn thing…
Anyway, while it is indeed true that Halo 4 may go on sale for a week, I think is just a marketing campaign for MS to attract more people to Halo that may not have enough money. Black Ops 2 is new for only 49.99 right now at Gamestop which I think is hilarious. We shall see if this is the permenant price however and I’ll alugh if it is.
Halo 4 sold around 8 mill. on just the xbox alone I don’t get how one sale from 1 retiler, that may be a mistake could be a sign of anything. People here are being paranoid.
I don’t believe this at all. It’s most likely some best buy employee that doesn’t know what they are talking about. Here’s a link below at how much the game truly is at best buy.
Seriously it’s not worth the twenty bucks in it’s current state. You have to have Gold in order to fully enjoy the game’s features and half of the first Season 1 of Spartan Ops is now Solo only. You have what 300 max population a SO mission with half of them gunning to kill you right next to the Covenant. No customizations and nothing of note when it comes to vehicles or maps. No firefight, and a story line that requires you know several books. That’s just Campaign and Spartan Ops. Multiplayer is a whole different ball of wax.
I really hope that the point of this thread ISN’T to hint that the game is bad. A sale is a marketing technique. Dropping the price could mean a lot of different things. This thread really has no purpose to it. So it’s 20 for a week . . . so what? Sure we could go at conspiracies all night long, but in the end what will we accomplish?
EDIT: Reading through this thread, I keep reading that Microsoft is behind the price drop. News Flash- Best Buy is setting the price drop, not Microsoft. Also, Best Buy could be doing this because they MIGHT be in a financial squeeze. I only say this to prove my point that this 20$ pricing is no big deal and we won’t get anywhere speculating as to why it happened.

This is only just one step in the “right direction”
Besides what does it matter if someone sells the game for $20? It just means that more people will likely buy it and then the total possible unique users will go up…not that halocharts tracks that anyway.
Halo won’t die. Halo 4 sold more than any other halo game on the first day so that is enough to justify the next one in the series. Also, it will be on the neXtBox and will probably be a system seller once people see it.
