Halo 4 Matchmaking: No Incentive to Continue

I’ve been playing Customs/Matchmaking on Halo since the release of CE, and I’m sad to say that since Halo 3 there is just no incentive to keep going. I’m not blaming 343 for the game they released, I’m blaming 343 for how they have handled the game after release.

Here are the reasons I find no incentive to play anymore:
No Visible CSR.
Why I feel it is important is not because I care what my CSR is that much. I just think it does give players a huge incentive to play with a mic, play the objective, play to win, ect. One reason has been stated as to why the refuse to add it is that it makes players “boost”. I would have to say that is a ridiculous reason, considering they added commendations/armor unlocks that require you to get x amount of assassinations, splatters, ect. and they also have your K/D displayed in-game which encourages kids to play objective games to stat farm while giving them a buffed camo/dmr loadout, ect. So I don’t understand the thought process behind this CSR creates boosters concept… in-game K/D creates boosters and breaks game types, not CSR and that is obvious.

No Mention of a Classic Playlist.
Despite so many members of the community asking for a Classic Playlist, 343 hasn’t mentioned it at all. I don’t mind the changes, but most of the time I just want to play Classic Halo, it is the reason I love(d) the game so much.
It also seems as if they have went out of there way to disable classic style Halo in general with the way they don’t allow the option to disable sprint OR instant respawn in custom game options.

Lag Issues Not Addressed
Some days lag isn’t there (or noticeable) and other days, the game is completely unplayable due to teleporting every two steps I take.

Biased Rotational Playlists.
They took out Snipers because it didn’t have enough players, but it ALWAYS had more players than Regicide and other playlists. Not to mention the Crimson DLC playlist having 300 or less players daily, yet they insist you pay for the maps rather than combining the maps into regular matchmaking. They also took away Slayer Pro (the closest to Classic Halo) for the same reason and I’m not expecting a return at least for a few months… they announce Team Doubles but I’m not too excited to play a cross map DMR fest with two players that if you rush, you will just get a Boltshot to the face.

It just seems that other games are offering so much more for both communities (Competitive/Casual). I’m definitely not switching to Black Ops 2 (that game is a joke) but Crysis 3 seems very promising and I for one and really excited to play the BETA.

Halo 4 had a lot of cool new features (at first)… but the more you play it, you realize the features it lacks over the game-breaking new features. I think Infinity Slayer is great for bringing in NEW Halo players but there is nothing for people that have been playing Halo for years.

I know a lot of the defenders of the game will attack me, but I have spoken positively and promoted this game as much as I could until now… I just can’t do it anymore. I’ve been 130 for awhile and played for “fun”, but quickly realized that it just wasn’t fun anymore.

Why do you need an incentive to stop working and have fun?

everything starts becoming boring and not fun when you treat it like a chore, including video games.

I don’t treat it as a “chore”. I have played for fun the past 3 weeks-month. It’s just in my opinion, there isn’t much fun to the game. It’s not fun to deal with everyone having power weapons throughout an entire match, or fun to play with/against people who are just camo camping/stat farming, ect.

If you get fun out of it, I’m happy for you. I just personally find nothing fun about this game anymore. Fun to me is playing to win against others who are playing to win but nobody plays to win anymore.

Atleast they put me out of my trolling waypoint misery. I am going to gamestop to trade this game in after work. I cant believe they killed Halo. I feel like they should have a legal obligation to put the CSR in or should be sued for false advertising and bait and switch. I specifically bought this game because pre-release they said there will be a 1-50 ranking system. I spent $60 and they -Yoinked!- me. After the reach catastrophe I would have NEVER bought this game if I had known there was not going to be a ranking system. -Yoink!- YOU 343i PLEASE LIFE BAN ME FROM YOUR Yoink! -Yoinking!- SITE

Quite frankly, that’s all you need to (and should) say. Halo is entertainment. If you’re not having “fun” with entertainment, you’re wasting your time.

your ranks are VISIBLE PER PLAYLIST, VISIBLE PER PLAYLIST, VISIBLE PER PLAYLIST. You r highest rank is VISIBLE ON WAYPOINT, VISIBLE ON WAYPOINT, VISIBLE ON WAYPOINT, VISIBLE ON WAYPOINT. I could be wrong but why would they say that you have a visible rank per playlists, but only the highest is on waypoint. If im wrong then i apologize, but if im not, then everyone who is complaining about the damn skill rank needs to learn to freaking read and listen.
