I dont know if this has already been spoken about, because this is my first time here…
Now I know microsoft are too cheap for regional dedicated servers, but I would like to see some things altered slightly in the matchmaking.
First, I would like to see a regional filter! Not some stupid choose best connection option like reach, but still pairs me up with people from north america, asia and australia! A proper filter that blocks me playing in games that are hosted on the other side of the atlantic, or the other side of the world!!
It also would mean that these people from other regions COULDNT join the games that I am in either. Not becuase I dont like them, but because of the lag and latency issues that come with playing against people thousands and thousands of miles away!
I am sure that people on the other side of the atlantic/world feel the same about this issue?! Who in their right mind wants to play games where you are immediately at a disadvantage, say if you are in california, and the host is in germany?? Playing BF3, I never even consider the servers that are not in my region, and I think that servers in other regions SHOULDNT be available, unless the option to play on them is ticked in the menus. And even then, it should be against people who are willing to accept the issues!
The other thing that needs to change is the option to join games mid-session. COD has matchmaking, and you can join mid-game, so why not halo?? Again give us the option in the menu, something to tick that is all!!
I am sure that the option to join mid-game would keep people playing halo 4 more, and not see it dip to 50k players at most times…
But the most important hosting issue that I dont want to see is a return the horrible lag/laltency filled mess of halo 2! Now I have nothing against my american cousins, but in halo 2, you could have a room filled of europeans and one american, and the american would get the host! Halo 2 matchmaking for anyone not in north america was a horrible laggy mess. It will be a shame if halo 4 goes down the same road.
Sorry for the wall of text
