So most of you who played Halo 2 remember the maps with interactive elements that changed gameplay. Like on Zanzibar, there was that gate that opened where you could play CTF/Assault with a bit more ease. Also the bridge you could lower and the windows you could shut. And on Colossus where it had the moving convaterbelt. And on relic where you could press the button that revealed the teleporter. Also the Train on Terminal! I was talking with some people I played with today about this. We said that this was an element that made the maps uniqe and cool! It gave a sence of activeness in the map. So I hope things like this return this!
Invasion gave a sense of progression.
…we should make a few more maps like that. After a certain amount of kills the boundaries of the map moves to a new area.
Can we do that in Invasion in Forge? Create new Slayer type maps that move to different areas after a certain score? Make the killzones move and added in? Probably would be unfair after a certain amount of kills you’re suddenly in a softkill zone. Maybe add in a wide teleporter that moves them right as we reach that score. Could make some interesting maps for that.
no I mean built in elements. Like the Widnwill in Last resort / zanzibar.
Halo 2 had the best maps ever… I loved the interactivity.
