I’m going to purchase the Crimson Map Pack for Halo 4 on December 10th, but is it possible to somehow transfer them to a friend from a different state so he can have them also?

PRobably but I wouldn’t reccomend talking about that here, as you are essentially talking about copying copyrighted material, on the froum of the people who created the content…

That’s absurd. He isn’t talking about pirating, he’s talking about sharing. Go back underneath your rock.
And to OP, simply let your friend (if you trust him) recover your gamertag on his xbox, and have him go to your download history to redownload the map pack to his own box. This worked fine for Halo 3 map packs, so I’m not sure if it will work the same for Halo 4 or not.

Alright Chief, no need to be a flamer.

Let me fix that for you.
Righto champ.
Go find someone else to troll.
Lol. I don’t see any trolls here. Moving on.
Yes you can do as stated above or transfer your Map Packs license to his xbox but I believe it’s a banable offense.
Best way to do it.
Get him to log in on his xbox as you. Download the maps, so then they will then be licensed to his xbox.
Then when he has done that, you sign back in on your xbox, redownload the maps and boom then both of you will have it.
However, you won’t be able to play the maps offline, you’ll always have to be signed into live to access them on your console.
HE HAS TO BE THE ONE THAT DOWNLOADS THEM FIRST THOUGH!
Thanks guys. But, would I have to let him recover my main account that has the points to buy the map pack? Or can I let him recover any account on my Xbox?
You’re main one, the one that you’re going to use to download them.
He’ll have access to them and will be able to play them whenever, you on the other hand will only be able to play them when you’re online and you can’t use a separate account to access them on your xbox.
Basically mate, just tell your friend to stop being such a cheap skate and buy the maps/season pass.
Here’s all the info for your question, and the short answer is: “Yes, you can let someone else in another state have your Map Pack”. They would have to do a license transfer after recovering your GT on their console.

Now stop being -Yoinks!- to each other. It’s the effin’ holidays man.
