From the gameplay machinima posted you can see the map is different in the second game, the first game looks like it’s about 12pm and the second at around sunset, could this mean that maps in Halo 4 go through day and night cycles? or atleast change cosmetically throughout matches?
I hope that it is a feature that is in, and not the developers messing around with the skybox to see what works best.
I do remember in Sparkast 014, though that they said that you cannot do day night cycles in Forge mode. Lets hope that this feature will at least be present in the on disk maps.
At first it seemed to me it was just a matter of colors being off in the video. Now I notice that it might indeed be different lighting and time of day…could be interesting!

Both of those were comicon right? I doubt they changed the entire aesthetic for the map in between two games on the same day.

It’s a long shot, but maybe it’s a Forge feature? 343i could’ve gone into Forge mode at some point earlier on, altered the lighting (or just placed an FX), and accidentally loaded the altered variant instead of default.

Story has nothing to do w/ multiplayer (at least before Halo 4) and I believe there were differences between the campaign and multiplayer versions of Sword Base anyway.

I distinctly remember the Beta version of Sword base to be a clean map which just looked like a plain office building. Although in the final product, after we found out what happened there, it had suffered a lot of damage.

So are you trying to say that Bungie purposely made the beta version of Sword Base clean so it wouldn’t give away spoilers or something?
I don’t think this was the case b/c at that point we didn’t know they were taking locations out of the campaign and putting them into multiplayer so they wouldn’t have ruined anything. It’s much more likely that they just hadn’t gotten around to putting in the damages yet b/c it was the beta build of the map. This same case could apply to Haven, but it’s unlikely they would have two versions of the same map in the same build unless it was for feedback reasons.
the second one definitely looked like some kind of screen issue. I mean I saw a part where he was walking out in the open, and all the colors changed for a bit. it wasnt Prometean vision, it was the screen changing some colors or something.

Yes. I myself believe that they changed the map purely to remove any possible spoilers. But that is beside the point. I think this was just a case that the lighting messed up in the second video.
Anyone that saw the RTX forge videos on youtube, or the actual event would know that the day night cycels are one of 3 themes for forge maps. You can probably set it to dawn, noon, or dusk to make a more dynamic feel
