Halo 4 makes me want to cry

It is true. So much so that I created an article on it. I hate what 343 have done to OUR game. Please click on the Hyperlink below in order to read it and then tell me what you think.

you could always leave…
no one is forcing you to play it.

i mean no offence but, if it hurts you so much, why are you still here?

Did you read the article? I want this game to be so much better than it currently is. Halo 3 is pretty much dead now and Reach is worse than this game so my only option is to spread the word in the vain hope that someone at 343 will listen to the genuine problems that there are with this game.

BTW I can’t play CoD because it sucks far more than any Halo game that 343 could ever manage to mess up. I hope that answers your question.

Well really the question is are you gonna play something else till the TU or keep playing Halo 4? I have issues with the game as well but im still very happy with it at the same time

Its their creation, but The WORLD’S game to play when it is bought. To be honest, i believe that they were caught between keeping the game similar to the previous games to please old fans, and doing new things that they wanted to do to help take halo in a new direction. Some long time fans actually love halo 4 and some hate it, but having this hate for it and vein obligation to insult what they have done will not change anything

If anything you should message bs angel or be active on twitter to fight for change.
They have even said that they plan on communicating better in the community.

Even i have issues with the game. How bout you just tell me yours and ill tell you mine?

You know, there are other games besides halo and cod. Battlefield 3 is awesome!!! If you want to bail on halo I recommend that game because the servers are still full and people don’t complain about it as much.

Personally I have always been a halo fan and halo 4 multiplayer is fun for me. I do get frustrated sometimes but it is still awesome.

Like I’ve said the main problem for me is that they shorted us on content with the short campaign and replacing firefight with terrible terrible spartan ops.

Erm… I thought I detailed my issues in my article. Here it is again.

Give it a read this time and then we can debate.

Honestly, I try very hard to play Halo 4 but after a few games I think to myself “meh” and then switch my Xbox off. I used to play Halo 3 for between 2-4 hours a day. I’ll give Halo 4 one thing - it has cured my Halo addiction.

Well isee your point. I do the same when one game pisses me off, i jump to another. I just downloaded Fear 2 for that reason

Limited Edition buyers get a pass that lets them download the maps for free when they come out, they do not get the maps right off the bat. The specialization codes were given to everyone by Microsoft, and they messed up on giving them out to everyone. Soon, all of them will be unlocked anyway. Other than those two, limited edition buyers get nothing that affects gameplay.

You’re wrong on population as well. Halo 3 initially dropped VERY fast and only had 32,000 unique users at one point, someone did the research. It’s a common misconception since that game uses a 24 hour counter while Reach and 4 use a counter for active users at this very second, so the population for Halo 3 is very inflated.

Something else good to know is that the game eventually worked it’s way up to 160,000 people, showing that games can bounce back given time. Halo 4 has only been out for 2 months, and 343i wasn’t fully functional for 1 of them due to vacations.

Finally, Halo 3 did have competition, but it wasn’t as powerful as before. COD and Minecraft (Only games more populated than Halo 4) were either not big or PC only back then, and the popularity of both did NOT come from Halo’s supposed “failings”. Not to mention Minecraft just released an update recently as well.

Moral of the story: do your research and get your head out of the past.

On your first point: why does there have to be a limit to your specialisation rank? This is what makes the game imbalanced as people with the limited edition have more attributes that they can get a hold of at loadout. You have to admit that this was totally unnecessary and they messed it up at the same time. Many people, myself included, still have not received the code. Why the hell does it have to come through your email. Like I said in the article, if they really have to do this nonsense then couldn’t they have done it in-game. What did you think about my point regarding DLC being released practically on day one of the games release? Do you not think that they are trying to shake us down for as much money as possible?

Your second point I totally disagree with and I would very much like to see the evidence gained from the research that “someone” did.

Your third point I assume is with regards to Halo 3. Well let me tell you that Halo 4’s population will never have such a dramatic recovery. Time will tell on this one.

On your fourth point, I once again disagree and will have to re-state what I said in my article: “Halo 3 competed against CoD: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Grand Theft Auto IV and the Orange Box”.

Your final point seemed quite facetious, especially as I stated in the article that I went back to Halo 3 and found it to be very slow. I’m not living in the past, but I want the present to be much, much better than it currently is. Thank you for your comments. Did you agree with any of the other points that I made in the article?

Ok, i have read your opinions and i agree and disagree with some of your points.

LOADOUTS

I believe that everyone now still starts on equal terms, but i feel like one of the your other complaints ruins loadouts: the dmr. If the dmr shot slower and was less easy to use then it would not be able to kill so fast.

GRENADES

The perk that you were talking about increases the radius of the grenades and slightly lowers their damage. And the regular grenades still take down your shields when close enough. I think i understand what they were trying to do, but taking away the ability to pick up grenades off enemies and allies, but having it as a perk take away from the new element that it could have added. They should have either taken it out or just keep it the same.

MEDALS

The medals or something that does not make the game unbalance, while some of them could be better, and who could use old ones, this is not something to get mad about.

BOLTSHOT

If the boltshot’s range was lowered to close range and the charge up period was actually a second, then it would be better.

PERSONAL ORDINANCE AND WEAPON SPAWNING

I think that personal ordinance is fine, but i believe that once the dmr is balanced then the more skilled players will earn it sooner and more often then people who cannot aim to even save their lives. IMHO weapon spawns should not be random, but certain weapons should be in ordinances like they are now. That way everyone will have access to power weapons, but the better players will have more weapons to choose from.

PERKS

Perks should either be obtained by achieving a certain level of a commendation or a certain number of a specific medal, but perks like the stability mod should be cut because they make flinch useless.

I read the whole thing, very much enjoyed it and agree with most of it. I’m not going to argue with the points I don’t agree on, but I wanted to at least comment that I am COMPLETELY with you on the point of assault and btb objective. I didn’t play much of halo 3 due to being busy with other things around then, but the most fun I’ve ever had in a video game, period, is btb ctf and 1 bomb assault on halo 2.
Again, good write up. I’ll be recommending it to friends.

As far as I’m concerned it has been a successful game, for a game with no public betas or any current title updates. I hate to say it, but if it makes you want to cry, then cry.
