I think that in Halo 4, there should be a category (You know, how they have in Halo 3, Ranked and Social, add a new one called Unranked or something cool) where your stats aren’t tracked. Yeah, you can still view your post-game carnage report and stuff online and in-game, but unlike Halo 3, it won’t track your kills, deaths, and medals.
What is the point of this?
Well, many people really care about their K/D ratio and how they do very much. They also care about their rank. Now me, I like to have fun, but I get mad if I start to do bad. Many people do.
This will allow you to warm up your skills when you first get on in the morning or after not playing for a while without it counting towards anything. Maybe you just don’t care and don’t want to be a burden on people or just want to have fun. This whole section of many different playlists will allow you to do that.
Plus, they can add a bunch of fun playlists and gametypes here. I’m not saying this should be the only place you can play Swords or Rocket Race or something, but since you would get pissed if you go negative in a tracked playlist, you tend to avoid those goofy and fun games.
We should have your general BTB and Team Slayer and such, while also having some new goofy things like Halo 3’s Action Sack does.
What do you guys think?
It’s called custom games :P.
waits for the inevitable “no duh!” comment. Say what you want but playing warm ups on Octagon (with MLG settings) is one hell of a warm up.

You seem to have missed the entire point and are thinking of it the wrong way.
Plus, BR is overpowered and a blank octogon with no cover is called skill? Seriously? It’s more than just about aim. It’s about strategy, weapon pick up, cover, using the map to your advantage, etc.
Sounds pretty unnecessary to me. If anything this should be limited to ONE Grab Bag playlist to avoid redundancy.

What?
I find it amazing how good threads like this that is actually contributing something, get buried by stupid ones that ask questions that have already been answered.

I know right! I made a post on a new power up for Halo 4 to freshin the gamplay and only one person actually replied, I thought it was great after I balenced it out, but the idea went unoticed…
But anyway, your idea is great! I can’t actually use customs games to it’s full potential because all my freinds who used to play Halo, play COD now. This would be the first place I’d head to when I start my game.
This sounds like a good idea! they 343i can either make a custom game searcher. or put this idea and by stats you mean k/d, and medals. etc.

That sounds like a good thread. Maybe you should leave a link.

Glad people like this idea!

Why not both?
Part of what makes playing in different playlists awesome is that stats are tracked in each one but in different categories. We have “Ranked” which is Arena, and “Unranked” which is Competitive. Both are tracked but they are kepts separate.

Not at all.
We play those different cagegories because of the games they offer. In the earlier days of Halo 3, I only played ranked because everything I wanted was there. Big Team Battle, Team Slayer, Lone Wolves, Team Objective, etc. Now I mix it up because BTB and Squad Battle aren’t in ranked.

He’s right. That’s what most people did, myself included.
Just bring back Team Training from Halo 2.
> Just bring back Team Training from Halo 2.
What is Team Training?
No, the population is already split enough. Just make stat tracking opt-in. There’s no reason to force players to have their stats tracked and displayed when they don’t want it, that doesn’t mean we need a whole different section of playlists.
Heck, just remove the ability to track stats in social all-together. There’s really no point to it, it’s called Social for a reason.
I have an idea. has anyone played rockband 2? if you go to quickplay your able to search for more players, after you find players you all take turns picking the song. what if they did this in custom games. you go to the custom lobby hit a button and find more players. durring the search a random host is selected when that person is happy with the number of people in the game they can stop the search. that person gets to pick the first gametype and map in a 60 second window they play the game then another player gets to choose map and gametype. durring the 60 second window players can vote to find more players maybe they can also vote to skip the host’s selection of the map when the vote to skip is selected they get to pick one more if that one is skiped it goes to the new host.
made that whole thing up as i went lol just some ideas everyones oppinion matters right? =]

I can’t skyjack a Banshee in ranked, can I? Social is still part of the game, but Halo 3 always had a good balance of players everywhere. I don’t see why we can’t have this new section with just the basics (Team Slayer, Big Team Battle, etc.).
