Halo 4 Major Complaints

First, I would like to start out and say that 343i does not even compare to Bungie when it comes to community feed back.

Missing Playlist:

  • Team Doubles: Classic 2v2
  • MLG: Classic MLG settings (I understand MLG is still setting up their rules, so I am okay with this not being implemented right now.)
  • Big Team Objective: Classic 8v8 objective game-types
  • Team Snipers: Classic 4v4 snipers, snipers and pistol, or sniper and shotgun
  • Lone Wolf (FFA): Classic 6 man free for all. (No objectives!)
    -Multi Team: We want that action packed objective game-type!
  • Grifball: Since the new system isn’t skill based (just like Halo Reach) why not include this into the War Games playlist? If you can have Flood you can have Grifball.

Playlist Issues:

  • Why do you remove playlist every week? If there are two or more people in a playlist it should not be removed.
  • Why is there no regular Free for All? Lone Wolf was a great playlist.
  • Why is there no Big Team Objective? With the design of Halo 4 maps this should have been included on launch.
  • Why are the maps only made for Dominion and Big Team Slayer? There are about 3-4 maps that are used for game-types other than Dominion and Big Team Slayer.

Maps:

  • 343i did a horrible job when it comes to maps. Halo has always been about a symmetrical and balanced map. Nothing is symmetrical when it comes to Halo 4.
  • Why is everything revolving around Dominion and Big Team Slayer? We get it 343 you made a new game-type. Stop making it the only thing you make your game around.
  • What happened to the community made maps? Sandbox and Forge World made a huge impact on map creation. With a good Sandbox or Forge World that would mean less development from 343i and more maps for all of the playlist.

Servers:

  • War Games has a terrible lag most of the time. 8/10 games has a horrible lag. (I have 30Meg download speed)
  • Spartan Ops is unplayable with the amount of lag. In every Spartan Op myself and other players in my party will freeze anywhere from 1-30 seconds.

Weapons:

  • Bolt shot. Do I even need to explain why this should not be a secondary weapon? For a player to have the ability to wield a one shot weapon on spawn is unbelievable. Either nerf this weapon or make it an ordinance drop.
  • This game does not feel like Halo at all. Magnetism ruins the skill aspect of the game. The BR is under powered compared to the DMR.
  • The Promethean Cannon is way to overpowered.
  • The Binary Rifle is a joke. One hit kill, really?!

Do not get me wrong, I love Halo. I am very pleased with the Campaign and Spartan Ops. Halo 4 did somethings very well and other things terribly wrong. The game has a lot of room to be improved on. I understand this is 343i biggest game.

No I will not go play Black Ops 2.

I don’t have any complaints for the campaign. I think the campaign was well done. In today’s gaming the online aspect of the game is the most important part of any game.

No, that’s a negative/fratboy way of thinking about gaming culture today. Thinking like that is how we always get lame, poorly/quickly thrown together multiplayer components that detract away from the single/co-op player experience or quality. We add in extra work that’s not wanted or required.

Spec Ops: The Line multiplayer was attacked, by it’s own developers, for being forced into a game that had a great single player story. The developers complained how they were forced to include it in, despite knowing and correctly guessing that the multiplayer would die within the first month.

The developers for Metro and Bioshock: Infinite have been praised for cutting their multiplayer components, as no fans wanted it and felt it would have negative affects on the single player story.

Granted Spartan Ops is my least played playlist, I think it was a nice addition. I think when it comes to developing a game it should follow this order: Campaign < Multiplier < Other.

So I agree with you on the Spartan Ops point.

ya op i dont agree with everything u said but the playlists i agree no more cycling them bring in team dubs and bring back team snipers and KEEP THEM!!!

On the subject of maps notice how all of them feature the same gritty color pallettes.

The playlist rotation is one thing that really made me want to post this.

Just like how the challenge was yesterday to “Win 3 King of the Hill games” when there was no King of the Hill playlist besides the DLC!

That’s great to hear, but that is in 2013. The game was released about a month ago. They game should have been far better than this.

Just to sum it up, I dont agree with most of what you have stated. I am in fact too tired to write a long winded post about what I dont agree with.

The maps and the playlists we are given are terrible. Even the DLC maps are massive and not suitable for
a good 4v4/ 5v5 game. Bring back FFA, Snipers, Doubles, Multi Team. These are iconic Halo playlists that
should be in the game no matter what.

And please, please do something about the Boltshot.

How could I forget about Mutli Team?! Multi Team was an OK playlist in Halo Reach, but in Halo 3 it was the BOMB!
