Which should be the main Halo 4 theme?
117 Is to me the best on the soundtrack, but To Galaxy is excellent and (IMO) should be the Halo 4 theme.
To Galaxy, it sound very classic. I’m getting some nostalgia from listening to it. But it also goes without saying that 117 is just amazing too.

They are actually Halo themes. If Bungie had made the themes would you say otherwise? I think these new pieces are fantastic and bring a great new feel to Halo. They still sound very Halo to me.
I believe ‘To Galaxy’ is the multiplayer menu music.
To Galaxy is perfect. It starts off with string melodies that give me a nostalgic feeling of Halo 3, especially its E3 trailer. Then, it cascades into Reach’s bold intro music, with minor chords resolving into major chords. After that, a transition occurs to the new Halo 4 style of music, which is excellent.
It’s basically Halo’s history written down in song. Beautiful.
117 and To Galaxy, along with Requiem and Never Forget, will make excellent menu music.
Another idea I had: you guys remember the Halo 3 intro with some awesome music and the flowing Microsoft and Bungie symbols? I saw that Halo 4 did the same (back in an old build, but it might still be the same), and I thought that the perfect music for that would be in 117 at 1:17. No joke. It sounds awesome. And it fits, I mean, 117 in 117… it’s perfect!
Also, I sincerely hope the main theme is back. Mainly the monks. It’s become such an iconic symbol of Halo… I can’t imagine Halo without it. I wonder if they can add them in every time you load the main menu like in Halo 3 before transitioning to a random song.

Personally Halo 3: ODST’s soundtrack(s) were my favorite. Halo 4’s are a bit too techno-futuristic, and stray from the original IMO, but I guess that’s what’s supposed to set it apart.

NONE of the songs produced by Neil are worthy of replacing the Halo theme. I’m not saying they aren’t good.

If I were Neil, I would want to make my OWN music known, first. THEN I would do my own take on Marty’s material (if I had legal approval, that is).
My favourite is Arrival, which I think will be in a couple of Spartan Ops and War Games cinematics.
