All around discussion of Halo 4 Limited Edition and its bonus content!
Attention! If you don’t wanna hear my story, all I want to know is really is what do you get with the Limited Edition.
My VIEW
Hey everyone, before you criticize me for being a 1st time poster here me out.
I have pre-ordered Halo 4 Limited Edition like many other halo fans. However with in the last few weeks I have began to almost regret it.
Most of the bonuses you get with the limited edition you can get with regular edition providing you buy the War Games Map Pass and by playing before November 20th. With the War Games Map Pass it includes the Crimson, Majestic and Castle map packs PLUS 2 in game helmets and an emblem at a special value. Two thing come to my mind. 1. Sweet, great way to reward all halo fans. 2. You gotta be kidding me! I payed an extra 40 dollars and this is cheaper? Wait I also get the specializations early. Oh wait EVERYONE who plays before November 20th gets them as well…
So basically what I’m trying to say is that alot of the stuff I payed extra money for was because its special and most importantly “limited”. I feel like I have been cheated. I do realize the limited edition does have some other bonus content as well but, basically half the bonuses are being given out to everyone; some of it even being FREE! I wanted this edition of Halo 4 to special to me and everyone who pre-ordered it. Could someone please explain in full detail the content you get with the Limited Edition of Halo 4 because everywhere I have looked I get different answers.
Have I wasted my money? Have you wasted your money? Tell me how you feel and what you have been told is in Limited Edition.
I feel it was worth the money, but this is from someone who hated Reach. It feels commemorative of the time between Halo 3 and 4 which created a prestige to a ‘proper’ Halo title coming out.
I always thought the little story inserts and goodies were what made the LE’s fun. I got the LE of Reach and had fun poking through all of the things that came with it, spent like an hour or two just doing that.
But I mean, I guess it’s the amount of value those things are to you? Some people love those little story goodies and would pay the extra for those alone.
I’m not sure what all else comes with it, but now I might need to look into these map passes you mentioned… //outoftheloop.
(Initially I was going to get it, but it’s sold out everywhere and I decided to just get a new controller, some more memory space, and the SE).
I actually have no idea on this, but doesn’t it come with the soundtrack? Or am I totally off base with that?
I can say I have never played a Halo that I have not enjoyed. And yes the LE armor is pretty damn sick. Reminds of Hayabusa. (not sure if I spelt that right)
I really do think you’re overreacting. Yes it sucks that some of the specialness of buying the LE has faded with the alternate War Games pack… yes it sucks they get helmet skins the LE doesn’t… but in the end it doesn’t matter. I DO feel it’s a slap in the face about the Specializations being unlocked for everyone who plays before Nov 20th though. Those should have to be earned by completing the initial two for anyone who didn’t get LE, but I’m sure this was changed because enough people complained.
You failed to mention the exclusive LE armor skin and AR skin for buying the LE along with the avatar costume and prop… AND the 14 day XBOX Live code. Then there’s all the physical goodies like the steelcase, briefing package and other stuff. I hope at some point down the road all these promotional skins will be made available to everyone… maybe a year down the road as DLC. (I’ve got pre-orders from Gamestop and Amazon, so I’m not one of those sore nerves people who think they’re missing out).

Sounds like you’re talking about Raider. That’s not the LE “armor”. LE comes with a skin for Recruit called Prime.
I agree with you, and I feel very cheated on content. I would tell anyone to just go standard edition and buy the season pass. You get all the same things but cheaper.
I ultimately decided on keeping my LE solely to continue my steel case trend…
