I personally think having different skins for different stores is unnecessary. I pre ordered from gamestop a day ago…only to realize they have one of the lamer skin layers. The halo 4 limited edition should come with all skins from all retailers! I know were already getting a lot for a $100.00 but i want all the skins
(Not to mention people will be selling skins on amazon, ebay, etc)
EDIT: i know it makes sense from a business stand point and its probably too late…But 343 should at least make these skins unlockable somehow for those who pre ordered somewhere else

No, having different pre-order bonuses for different stores is necessary…for the stores. That’s the whole point behind retail-exclusive pre-order DLC. It’s all about enticing consumers who are swayed by such content to choose a retail shop they normally would not, thus securing that store income they normally would not get. It’s how retailers are able to get a chance to stand out and compete with their competitors.
Consumers who are into this sort of this thing will inevitably and unfortunately get burned by the business practice, but it’s not going anywhere anytime soon because it works.
I see what your saying but this is what i hate about pre-order exclusives…its basically saying “hey, we programmed this to be in the game. But the only way to get it is to pre order it” (whether its an exclusive for a store or not)
343 should at least make it unlock able through achivments, beating campaign on legendary, doing something through multiplayer or having the limited edition
The reason I think it should is that the Amazon website (IDK about the other but amazon is the one I care about) says nothing about the skins on the Limited Edition page, if I pay $100 for Halo AND Pre-Order it I better get something freaking special
Those preorder bonuses by shops are purchased by the same shop so you buy there, so it would be a contract violation to include all the skins, so no, not possible.
Edit:…But, it is possible that it gets released as DLC later, or at least a different version, so i wouldn’t worry too much about it.
Yeah i just realized that on gamestop it says i get the “forest skin”. Then it says nothing about the battle rifle skin, although it says something about an assault rifle skin…
I’d hope for the extra $40 that the skins are part of that. I can see only pre-ordering the regular edition netting you the specific store exclusive. But yes, the Limited Edition should include them all, regardless of initial store/retailer purchase.
I really want Pulse and Raptor but I don’t think that store is anywhere near me. Do you get anything from gamestop? The one from EBgames looks like it has a canadian theme to it, I don’t really like the look of it.

LOL, Gamestop has the same armor skin but without the weapon one.
The colors are changeable, every store makes this clear, also the Gamestop skin is the same as the EBGames skin, it just doesn’t have a ARctic BR
343 should have all skins in the limited edition because I wanted to get all the skins for halo4 but having them at different stores dose not allow me to do that because where i live some websites like Amazon.com and bestbuy.com dose not deliver to where i live and the skins on those websites are the ones that i wanted:( so they should have all preorder skins in the limited edition but you should at least make it you preorder the limited edition you get all the preorder skins.
Nice thread OP, yes I think we should have all the skins (I want you Raptor!). It would be a nice addition to the game.
So, anyone who pre-orders the LE should be able to get all the skins (Because that would be awesome). I don’t think it’s going to happen but it would be nice if it did!

ugh… website ate my post. Anyway I wont be that mad if we cant get the skins since none of them stick out that much fo me, I AM curious about what we will get for the LE since it comes with a weapon and armor skin. I’m hoping for a platinum/forerunner skin (to match the box).

I agree to an extent, but the other side of me that doesn’t care about the skins is getting in the way. The part that agrees just doesn’t like the fact that different stores get different incentives, it’s a little confusing. I’m having a hard time tracking down which store gets what skin.
How about a better idea to keep BOTH the stores and the fans happy: about a week after the game comes out, all the store-exclusive stuff comes out as DLC in one pack.

Best Buy: Raptor Skin w/ Bulletproof and Spartan Emblem
Gamestop/EB games: Forest Skin and Arctic BR (though i am not sure if the BR skin is exclusive to EB games).
Play.com: Dead-Eye Helmet
Microsoft Store: Pulse Skin
Mighty Ape: Raptor skin, Assassin Emblem, and Locust helmet. They have a pre order special for the Bonebreaker Emblem AND the Pulse Armor Skin to in addition to other three. Yes, this is real
