Halo 4 Limited Edition pre-order conundrum

Hey, everybody. I’m sure this has come up somewhere, and if so, I’m sorry, please delete this thread and redirect me to the other one. I’ve just got a quick question:

Does anybody know when they will stop in-store pre-orders on the Halo 4: Limited Edition?

I ask because this is the edition I really want to buy, but, thanks to my first semester in college coming up (yeah, Fall 2012!), I’ve been placed in a rather interesting predicament.

You see, the college I plan on attending is about 3 hours away from my house, and I will be in college at the time of game release. Problem is, I’ll leave to that college to settle into my dorm (and eventually, you know, start college or whatever) on August 19th. So, if, say, pre-orders end at a time after August 19th, then I can just run to the local Walmart/Gamestop/Target to pre-order the game. If, however, they end before that time, then I have to decide whether or not I’ll be able to pre-order it at a store up there, or if I’ll have to get it at a store where my current home is. Which is dumb, because I NEED to get it at Midnight. NEED.

P.S: On a sidenote, does anybody know if you can pre-order a game online for an in-store pickup at Midnight? Like, if I pre-ordered the Limited Edition off of, say, Walmart.com, and then went into the store, could they just look up my pre-order and everything would be good? If that’s the case, then this entire conundrum doesn’t matter (as I can just pre-order it to the store up there and everything’ll be golden).

Thanks for the help!

i think 1 day after the launch day they stop making them, until then, the limited edition can still be up on sale(if they are some), that means if no one had bought it after the launch, you can still bought it on stores until they run out.

EDIT: i orderes halo CEA on the same day was realeased, and i still got the bonuses of pre order.

I was in the same situation as you with Halo Reach two years ago. Basically how it works is that each store has a set amount of Limited Editions that they will receive. They keep taking pre-orders for them until they run out, in which case you can only get the regular edition. Seeing as how the game releases two months after you get to college, so there should definitely be some left.

You could also try calling the store where you’ll be pre-ordering and see what they say about the situation.

If you can’t make it to the local store to buy a limited edition, I suggest you order it online then, and have it be shipped to your house.

Problem with this is that my house is 3 hours away. I could have it shipped to the dorm, but I’d have to wait until the next day, and that’s not happening. Midnight baby!

This is exactly the answer I was looking for. Thanks so much!
