Halo 4 Limited Edition bonus for two people?

Me and my girlfriend both play Halo and have pre-ordered the limited edition game, are we BOTH going to have access to the map packs AND specializations or are we expected to purchase the limited edition twice? Any help on this would be appreciated

If I’m understanding your question correctly, you and her are both paying for a single LE? If you and her have seperate gamertags, then no, you will not both get the bonuses. You will need a separate LE for each GT.

No, you can not use them over separate accounts, you must have one copy for each person, its always been like that due to how people abuse certain elements. So you are expected to purchase the Limited Edition twice if you both want the extras and separate discs for separate consoles.

However if your only planning on playing on one account then no you only need the one copy.

I have never had any problem (Halo Wars’ maps, Halo Reach’s preorder bonuses…). All of them works for both accounts with no issue.

Everything but the Avatar stuff that isn’t downloaded from Waypoint (the Falcon Prop works since it’s got from Waypoint).

> its always been like that due to how people abuse certain elements.

It’s worked on both accounts (mine and my brother’s) since Halo 3 with every last downloadable bonus.

Flames, Recon helm, map packs, Avatar Props (only the ones that are downloaded through Halo Waypoint like the Falcon one), etc.

Yea, we play on different GT’s. GADDAMMIT! Oh well, I’ll pre-order the standard edition from game.co.uk as you get the specializations as a pre-order bonus from them  Thanks very much for your help.

If anyone remember’s the Recon UA variant for Pre-ordered copies of Halo: Reach as well as copies of Halo: Reach that we’re purchased on the initial release day/ also including the Legendary edition of Halo: Reach that included the Flame Head armor effect and the Elite’s Captain armor variant.

My point being that I have all three; Recon UA, Elite’s Captain Variant, Legendary Flames - All of which after having downloaded them to my Xbox we’re surprisingly available to anyone else on my Xbox as well.

So I do not think you need another copy if it’s only on the one Xbox however I could be wrong, this is how it worked for Reach though.

If you are sharing a console there is no problem any map packs will apply to both accounts. If its on separate consoles then you will each need a copy of LE

My main issue is I don’t know how they’re implementing the early specializations, will it be a code? And yea, with previous map packs they have been available to anyone on my Xbox in the previous games :S

I’m even more confused :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll hold off on the extra copy for now.

Thanks guys

Will the online content be applied to the gamertag, so if you go on a friends console, you will still have your stuff or like reach’s where it was downloaded onto the console so anyone using the console had the stuff but if you went on a friends, you could not access it.

Almost any DLC will be available across all gamertags on a single console.

Reach’s Heroic and Legendary DLC
Map Packs
On-disk hidden content (ex: street fighter stuff)

All fall under the “Console content registration” idea

The only exception is Avatar content.

as long as you play on the same console yea you can. cause the rights to it will be on your console. as long as my brother plays on my console he can get halo reach LE stuff for his spartan.

Any maps that may come with a preorder would be downloaded to the console, being available to any gamertags that play on the console, but not available on other consoles. The specializations will be provided via a code that you would apply to your gamertag, thus being tied to your gamertag and NOT the console. If you’re concerned about both of you have the earlier specializations, then you ought to be another copy for her. Avatar bonuses also are tied specifically to gamertags, as are armor.

Breakdown…

  • Maps: Console-based. Anyone on the console can access them, but cannot be accessed on any console.

  • Specializations: Account-based. Only accessible via single Xbox Live account, but likely can be accessed on any console with said account.

  • Avatar Bonus: Account-based. Read above.

  • Armor Bonuses: Account-based. Read above.

It doesn’t matter if you but one copy of Halo 4 LE, because if you both use the same Xbox 360 console the code was originally redeemed on, then it’s considered licensed to that console. When stuff is licensed to a console, it means ANY account may use that content, BUT only the original account who redeemed the code can redownload it on other consoles, and if they were to do that, only the account who redeemed the code would be able to use it on the other ones. There is also such a thing called license transferring. It makes it so the licenses are transferred to the console of your choice, which then gets rid of the license on the old console.

Long story short, if you play on the same console, and redeem the code on that console, then only one copy is needed. If you both use separate consoles yes and no, I could better explain it in a voice thing. I tried my best, but if you want to get better more efficient detail, message me on my gamertag: Khazies

DLC is linked to your console, not your profile. So any person playing on your console will have access to the DLC.
