I have been getting sick of not being able to see enemies in Halo 4 campaign/Spartan Ops due to the stupid lens flares shining right in my face making seeing anything extremely difficult. This is irritating especially when in high tension situations. Please could the devs add an option in settings to reduce and/or turn off lens flare as I feel it causes a lot of problems playing the game?
I think you may like the Halo 4 Reflow Mod by d3ad connection. I’m pretty sure it does exactly what you would want in so far as the lens flare are concerned.

I’ve posted about this mod in other forums. I just wish there was a way to use the “Graphics Changes Only” version of the mod without having to disabled Easy Anti Cheat, as it has no affect on weapon balancing.
They should really add mod support for console the same way Bethesda did for Skyrim and Fallout 4. This would allow many designs to be resolved for console players.
I’ll check it out but I still think we need it officially added to the game.
The biggest reason the Fallout and Elder Scrolls games can do that is because they don’t have online multiplayer. Given that the MCC (and other Halo games) have online multiplayer it makes things more complicated as game balancing and exploitation become much larger issues to deal with. That is why it has the option to be launched with anticheat disabled.
You should. I played i around with it for a while and I quite enjoyed it. With that being said, I think this speaks to a larger issue about the fact that we don’t have enough of the graphics settings that you would expect in a PC game. Say what you will about Halo Infinite, but their visual/graphics settings are pretty robust.
Granted MCC was designed for console and Infinite was designed for both Console and PC. But still, I agree. Those lens flares can get pretty annoying at times. Part of the reason why they’re so intense and prevalent, though, was likely because 343 had to use that as a kind of graphic trick to hide some of the draw distance issues back during its release. They really were pushing the hardware limits on the Xbox 360.
Now that Halo 4 (along side the other titles of MCC) is on gaming platforms with much better hardware, hopefully 343 will be able to address this in a future update. Though I suspect that this is a low priority for them, if it’s a priority at all.
That’s why I posted in other forums that they should try to draw inspiration from games like Left 4 Dead 2. Granted, I haven’t played online multiplayer PvP in that game. But I have played networked coop with some of my friends with mods. I’m not sure if it’s because of player-hosted servers or something else. But I think it’s worth investigating.
As an addendum to my previous posts, here are some links that can provide some context as to how modding works for campaign co-op for Left 4 Dead 2.

The short version is that if a player hosts a local server, then they can invite their friends to play with them in co-op campaign with their own mods. So I don’t think their online in the sense you can do PvP. But you can still play with friends on a network.
I suppose that would work but it would be tricky to implement as although (and this is only going by the last I heard it explained) the custom games are run peer to peer with a designated player as the host competitive is run from a server hosted by 343 in which case your mods at best wouldn’t do anything and at worst would incur penalties and or bans.
Over all though I do get where you are coming from and could see that idea being a good way to implement modding.
I can still remember my cousin being completely confused starting up a game of left4Dead with friends forgetting that he had heavily modded his game with a bunch of really weird mods only to find everyone’s models had been replaced with MLP characters. He posted a video of it on Youtube I think.
