Okay so. I got halo 4 legendary edition when it first came out, brand new from target around Christmas, it came with all the dlc map packs, i redeemed the codes, downloaded th maps, yet they do not work, all map packs are downloaded, says, “players do not have recommended downloadable cobtent maps”, so, in all this time ive still never found a solution nor have i been helped other than sent back and forth as to who to contact, they literally tell you now, at xbox support, whom i just got off the phone with, and thats probably my fourth call for this issue, plus the online support, plus searching forums, they told me to “contact the game developer” “but they dont have a way of contacting them”, basic gist, and to sewrch forums, ive tried all the forum tricks i could find, deleting and re downloading, clearing cache, etc etc, now after trying these tricks, not only does it still say the same thing “players do not have the recommended downladable content maps”, it says “checking downloadable content…”, “unable to validate”, “please make sure you are connected to xbox live and have the war games pass downloaded”, and the maps still dont work. So, what am i to do? It may seem sad now that halo 5 is out that im still trying to get halo 4 to work, but, Ive played halo since 2001, i bought my original xbox so i could play original halo, and ive still never got to fully play halo 4, with all the maps. So, this comes up as the official site for this game, hopefully i cam finally get a solution. Thank you. - justin.
Do you have the Forge World DLC by any chance? It was a free DLC update released a few months after launch. if you don’t have it, that may be what is missing. You can find it in the store here:

Yes i have it, can even go into forge and go into the levels, but as far as onoine multiplayer goes, they do not work. Says players dont have content maps…
