So I put in my Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn Special Edition code today and I went to Waypoint (on console) to watch it. I was really impressed by how fast everything buffered and it just looked really great on my Samsung HDTV screen. Everything was going fine until the part in the first episode of Forward Unto Dawn when Thomas Lasky talks to Colonel what’s-her-name (Mehaffey, I think?). The video quality just started to become a bit blurry. I was wondering what I could do to solve this problem?
Darn, I really wanted the Special Edition of the LE to be downloadable, because I’ll really have to use up a lot of my limited Internet capabilities to watch high-quality Forward Unto Dawn whenever I want to.
I tried watching Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn on my computer and it has similar quality to whenever the average user watches a YouTube video. Occasionally the video quality gets worse and pausing the video sometimes only makes the video quality poorer. And what are the blue arrows that point down for?
Please help me lol. Would really appreciate it aha
We use Silverlight smooth streaming for the Halo 4 Limited Edition video. This means that rather than buffering, you’ll likely see the quality adapt to your current available bandwidth.
So if you’re seeing low quality, it is likely because your Internet connection has degraded.
Isn’t there someway you could just let us download it? I don’t have the greatest internet where i live. It works for playing online games but i can barely watch streaming video without letting it buffer. While FUD works fine and does not buffer, the video quality is just not up to par on my HDTV. I see constant pixelation or fuzzy video quality and it makes me not even want to watch it. I find it rather unfair that i am forced to watch it using a streaming service.
Yea this content should have been on disc , or a real download instead of hosting on waypoint utilizing the crappy silverlight application. Great concept, but terrible follow through.
Provides a terrible experience for people without an outstanding connection. Would have been far far better for everyone had FUD had been an actual download instead of an unlock key.
and not being able to view terminals within Halo 4 was a bad idea too. Forcing people to waypoint for them… why? I’m sure people who only game offline aren’t too happy about this.
Agreed with both above. I use mobile broadband - no landline to my home - and its fine for MM and Ops but try to stream FUD - HAHA yea right. I’d love to have been there when they came up with that one.
“Hey what should we do to get FUD out to those who paid extra for LE Halo 4?”
“How about giving it to them in high def on a disc bundled with the game?”
“Psshh thats silly. Its all on the cloud now. No one wants discs. The ~cloooouud~”
“But what about those who dont have high speed data connections and would still like to watch the movie in HD?”
“Sucks for them. Fix it yourself.”

Yeah, but in my opinion it should be also possible to download FUD to watch it in 1080p although you don´t have a good connection.
