I for one was so excited when I bought my LE because of all the exclusive content i was to receive for purchasing such an item. Over the weeks, 343i has slowly given almost every single Halo player the access that the limited edition user have. Such as the specializations and now look at this map pack mess. How does the community feel about Halo’s “Limited Edition”?
I think that Halo 5 is benefitting from all these terrible things and that new and professional people will soon find jobs while others will find jobs elsewhere.
The specializations were always, I repeat ALWAYS, going to be released to everyone.
LE owners paid for EARLY access. The map pack mess was Microsoft’s fault. They were trying to fix a bug that locked map pass owners out of getting it for free, and accidentally made it free for everyone. They are fixing this bug as we speak so the maps won’t always be free.
You have PLENTY of stuff in the LE that I, and others, will NEVER get.

That’s where you’re wrong. The only thing I really have that others won’t get is a shiny case. The main reason I bought the LE is because I knew I’d be buying the maps anyways, so might as well, now not only do I not have access to them when they’re released, but others who may have not even had any intention of paying money for the maps are getting them for free.
I think at this point MS should just make Crimson map pack free for everyone and compensate us who paid for the content with a free 4th map pack, or 800 MS points.
I wouldn’t be surprise if they give the LE Armor and weapon skin for free, but not the FOTUS armor.
i for one will not be buying anymore halo LE. I BUY 4 EVERY TIME FOR ME, MY BROTHER& HIS KIDS. i feel like a fool what a waist of money for a beta from 343 and microsoft.
the game would be great if not for all the problems since it came out its unfinished

We got stiffed…a little. Anybody who pays for something, only for others to get it for free has a right to be upset somewhat. Yes, you still got what you paid for. That’s been a popular counterpoint on the boards tonight for upset LE and Map Pass folks. The point they’re missing is some amount of folks got what we paid for without paying for it. There’s reason to feel there’s a gripe there.
The reason LE folks have less reason to feel upset is we got a physical product with other goodies for our money. While I bought the LE mainly because of the map access, I also got other stuff. Folks who got the Map Pass bought it solely to get a discount. Their discount has cancelled out and turned into a price disadvantage so they have real reason to be upset.
The main way we got cheated in the LE is that the content was nowhere near as special as the behind the scenes stuff from Halo 2/3 or the Halsey journal from Reach. What we got with 4 was essentially a physical copy of a Halopedia break down of specializations. It was underwhelming to say the least, but that’s a different discussion.
Yep, got ripped, definitely not buying Halo 5 LE, probably not at all.
It was worth it for me, standard edition + map pack pass cost a lot more than the LE.

The game cost 60 you technically pay more for the maps packs with the LE than without. the early access was a rip off too. the thing that ruined everything is the double xp codes in this regard. i see that had the xp codes not existed our “early access” would have lasted longer and had more meaning

Here standard costs $100, map pack pass costs $30, total $130. Le costs $120 plus all the armour stuff etc. Note these are launch prices.

YES THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT WITH MY LE DISAPPOINTMENT
I’m just confused…I thought this edition would have so much more to it than it did. Yes it does have a few papers inside it but nothing that you couldn’t just find on the Halo wikia…I’ve been enjoying this game since launch but I’m slowly starting to dislike 343i more and more every day. I’m a die hard Halo fan. But the things happening to my franchise are heart wrenching…
Statues and Master Chief helmets are cool and all, but the documentary on the bonus DVD for Halo 2 will always be the end-all, be-all for video game bonus features. At that point in my life, I hadn’t really seen much about game development so it showed me what making video games really was. Also, there was a good focus on the community and impact of the franchise in that thing. The commentary on the cinematics of Halo 1 & 2 that came with 3’s Legendary edition was quite entertaining as well. Halo is the only series I get limited editions for, but this time around, without the map pass, there would have been absolutely nothing to justify the expense.

Exactly this is why I’m so pissed about my limited edition…
I wont lie, I do feel a bit gipped, especially knowing they got the maps free. I feel early access to maps should be exactly what it sounds like, which is early access to the maps. It sucks the Specializations are for everyone ruined the whole purpose.
I just posted somewhere else, that if a small campaign to get the spec codeds sent out a 2nd and 3rd time worked, then getting some kind of reinbrusement for actual money loss with the map pass in the LE should be a piece of cake. I’m going to get the Fotus armor.
