Hello, Halo 4 is clearly my most anticipated game for 2012, and I was wondering with all the rumors of the next Xbox (Xbox 720), do you think that Halo 4 will be the last hurrah for the Xbox 360?
I fully expect Halo 5 to release on Xbox 360, because I don’t think we are quite finished with this current generation of consoles.
But of course, this is all my opinion, but unfactuated rumours are a bad thing, a very bad thing.
While Halo 4 is going to be big, no.
A “last hoorah” would constitute more then one retail exclusive for the span of 13 months…
2012 is basically “-Yoink- the gamers that made us what we are. Here just jump around in front of your tv with kinect.”

Patterns? If patterns were followable, we would have gotten a new xbox back in 2009 and be prepping for the xbox brand 4th console iteration for next year lol…because you know the xbox 1 was only on the market for four years before a successor.
With dev kits already in production, the next box is coming in 2013. Halo 5 will launch in 2015, 2 years after it’s release (there is your pattern, halo 3 release 2 years after the 360 launched).

Last on on 360? Hmm depends. How long will they spend developing Halo 5 for release? Will they try 2 years or push it back to 3? I would think Halo 5 would release a year after the next console launches so they can about 10 million consoles sold before they launch Halo. Halo 1 was a console launch title, but it was also unknown at the time. Now its a know commodity that would be hurt by limited sales numbers if it was a launch title for the next console. You also have to wonder if they release a Halo 2 anniversary in 2014? If the next console comes out in 2013, will there be some way of upgrading or optimizing Halo 4 for the new console? Will there be some sort of ODST type expansion for Halo 4 next year? There are just so many things that could happen now with 343 being in control, and a new console coming at an unknown time.

Hey, If I wanted to see a troll, I would be on LOTR my good fellow, If I think that’s gunna` happen, then that’s what I think will happen until its release dates tell me otherwise, don’t try and troll this thread like some fat living with his mum at 40 years old tool.
I would happily put money on the fact that Halo 5 will appear on the next Xbox console, perhaps even as a launch title. There is simply no way that Microsoft will allow 343 Industries to spend another few years working on a Halo title that will release just as the Xbox 360 is breathing its dying breath.

Halo 4 will be on Xbox 360, Halo 5,6 and other halo titles in between will be on the Next Gen Xbox.
When Halo 4 releases, the X360 will be 7 years old. Assuming 343 keeps Bungie’s 3-year development schedule, by the time Halo 5 arrives, the console will be a decade old. It’s not much of a guess to say there’ll be a new console, and by extension that Halo 5 will be a launch title, after Halo 4 re-establishes Halo’s mainstream popularity.
With all the buzz arround the neXtbox lately, I am almost positive Halo 5 will not be for the 360. As for a “last hurra” I have no idea…

the 360 doestn need anymore Halo games. Its already enough. Its already bad that halo4 is still coming out for the 360. But 2013 is the year for a new console. And the time is ready for it.

Halo3 (2007)
Halo Wars (2009)
Halo 3 ODST (2009)
Halo Reach (2010)
Halo Anniversary (2011)
Halo4 (2012)
thats already 6 games in ONE generation. And the 360 launched in 2005. Enough with this old Hardware.
This generation of consoles is so sad. Some other titles are not better too…
Gears of War, CoD… so many Sequels and preguels in one -Yoinking!- Generation! Microsoft needs to wake up and give us the new Xbox already.
Halo4 will be the last hurrah for the 360 like Halo2 was for the old xbox.
I think Halo 5 will be released for the next generation XBOX. Seeing as the most logical release of the next generation XBOX would be 2014 at the earliest, and Halo usually takes a couple years to be finished, it would make sense.
