The Killstreaks are not nukes or chopper gunners or anything of that nature.
War Games Gameplay look for the meter next to the medals that gradually fills up.
It appears that a varient of a killstreak system appears in certain game types in Halo 4. The system works by players getting 10 points; for kills, assists, etc, which fill up a meter displayed on the left side of the HUD. Once the meter is filled, the system rewards the player with an ordnance drop if the milestone is achieved. The player has 3 choices of what’s in the ordance drop from a Scattershot, Needler or an AA (Hardlight Shield). The player selects what he wants via the d-pad and it will be dropped on the map, possibly at the players location or random spot on the map. It’s unclear if a player can customise his ordnance in his loadouts or whether it is gametype/map specific.
Normally I would be against killstreaks, but i’ll bet it’s gametype specific so if you hate it, don’t play it. Everyone’s happy. What’s your opinion on killstreaks in Halo 4?
P.S Does anyone know if Spartan Ops and War Games will have seperate ranking systems and if killcams are in Halo 4?
I don’t think it’s bad, getting to change weapon to another one that you choose isn’t game changing, and none of them are power weapons. As for the AA, everyone’s got one, just being able to change yours if you choose for doing well isn’t bad, and from what I’ve seen of the Hardlight shield it is easily countered and not overpowered.
Im shore that you posted this yesterday (or it was someone else) and it got ripped apart, they are not kill streaks you can choose WHAT weapon spawns but not WHERE it spawns, it could land next to you or on the other side of the map next to an enemy, that’s part of it you have an idea of what will come but not where it will be, so no it is nothing like a kill streak.
Its not a kill streak the footage is from Infinity Slayer if you look on the Halo 4 website under game types it will tell you more about it. You are correct that there is a meter that fills up but it fills up from the points you get from everything you get do in the game like an assist or a head shot so you get points for all those things, when it fills up you can get an ordinance drop which they explain more about.

INFINITY SLAYER
A new twist on the traditional Slayer experience that now allows Spartans to earn points during the course of a match which can eventually be leveraged to call in ordnance from overhead. Ordnance drops within Infinity Slayer consist of three selectable but randomly generated weapons or power-ups, the latter which can alter the Spartans speed, shielding, or ability to issue damage.
You’re a bit mistake OP. You get points via in-game actions, such as kills, assassinations and headshots. Each action rewards you with a different amount of points too. For instance, headshots are worth more points than a normal kill is. Once you’ve collected enough points a diagram of the D-pad pops up, and you have the option to gift yourself a powerup (overshields, a damage increase powerup, and a stim-powerup [which gives you extra speed and faster reload times] have been confirmed so far) or call in for a power weapon. The ordnance drop itself will drop near you, not in a random location. This has also been confirmed by players who played Halo 4 at E3. It’s been likened to calling in a care package in Call of Duty.
Also unlike killstreaks the enemy has the chance to take/steal your weapon. With killstreaks you can call in an airstrike with no way for the other team to contest it.
I personally don’t mind these ordnance drops as they have specific drop points which again can be contested.

It’s a new gamemode called Infinity Slayer (been confirmed). It’s not normal Slayer, and for the record, players might not like this mechanic, on top of others, for the fact it changes how the game is played.

The Rocket Launcher spawn on The Pit changed how the game was played. Nobody complained about that.

I don’t think you understand. Power weapons have been on a periodic spawn timer since CE; it’s part of the game, and if you didn’t like this mechanic you wouldn’t be playing Halo’s multiplayer. This is a new mechanic that replaces that one, and changes how players behave in-game and how you play it. For instance, there’s no need to strategies around power weapons and powerups because they don’t spawn on the map any more.

They do spawn on the map at least in Regular Slayer, they just come in as ordinance drops (like in Infinity Slayer but you don’t call them in) at random but set locations (not near you) instead of the old fashion way of popping in at static locations. So if you don’t like the idea of calling in your weapons then play regular slayer.

I’m aware of the differences between Infinity Slayer and Halo 4’s standard Slayer. However, like I said before, in Infinity Slayer your ordinance drop does spawn near you. People who played it at E3 confirmed this, and likened it to care packages in Call of Duty :>

I dislike the whole “killstreak” concept because its not halo! When I play with my friends we try to control key parts of the map aka where the power weapons spawn. If that’s taken away then your taking away a huge part of halo! Its been like ever since halo has been around and needs to stay like that. Like when your watch MLG players they do the same thing idk they should just limit it to spartan ops or something/
