Halo 4 K/D

> I have a 2.0+ k/d and im way better than most scrubs I come across in MM. A persons k/d ratio is the best way in Reach to tell if a person is good.

> If a person is less than 2.0 then there most likely bad.

You don’t need to have a super mlg ratio like yours to be good. What’s your definition of good? Perfections every match? I do positive unless I get in a bad game and my k/d is around 1.46. I consider myself a good player. But having twice as many kills as deaths is a lot…

That would be useful, hopefully I’ll maintain a good K/D in Halo 4

> k/d in reach means nothing and in Halo 4 it won’t mean anything as well. I don’t think anyone has said anything to me in Reach about k/d before a match. Then again if they did they are muted since I auto mute everyone =)

People always watch your k/d spread/ratio before the game begins, just to know if there is any challenge in the match. It’s a good indicator for that, judging from someones k/d you can be 90% sure how the match will play out. At least I and my team do that before every game, if the other team doesn’t have a person with a k/d above 2.0 we barely even try our best. I’m not saying k/d is important, I don’t care about my k/d at all and don’t even try to get it up. But you’ll know if you have to try hard or if you can just fool around by looking at other people’s stats.

Oh man, people want the fact that they suck at a video game hidden from others? In halo 3 you just checked xp v total games. This worked pretty well till Double XP weekends, and even still it was pretty reliable.

Hey look at this guy, 2000 games played and 300 XP = He’s BAD AT HALO.

This is the reality, there is no actual defense to this unless you just play “casually” and feel it’s ok for you to never try and be horrible. That effects your team, this is not a single player game (MM).

In halo 3 I checked gameplayed vs xp for every person every game. In reach I check K/D of every player every game. Some people play halo to win, and winning is easier when you know who is the highest threat or weakest link on an opposing team.

I wouldn’t be against a slayer k/d and a objective k/d. Because, yes, arguably one can go negative in a flag game and still be doing a lot of good work. This is rare, and a very typical excuse people make to try to deflect their poor records.

My standards are pretty low as it is. If you go anywhere from -2~+2 you’re practically amazing. You’re pretty much better than 90% of my normally performing teammates. If you go -10~ you’re performing as expected.

There is no reason why the numbers should be veiled. It is a representation of your ability to play the game. Just because you’re ashamed of it doesn’t mean it should be removed, it should mean you need to start learning how to play better for the sake of your team, or forever play rumble/lone where no one will personally care.

> Yeah, I also hate it when people judge others by their K/D. I’m indifferent to whether or not it’s on the Service Record, though,

I think K/D should have a toggle option as to whether or not it’s displayed, but I think it should be displayed by default.

Didn’t anyone ever tell you not to solely rely on K/D. You couldn’t be anymore wrong.

With a good ranking system, this wont be an issue.

In Halo 3, MLG pro Walshy has a K/D that was less than 1.00. Was he a bad player? No.

People could be judged on their rank, which was (9 times out of 10) an accurate representation of a players ability. I could go play Living Dead and get a 3.00 K/D in Reach, but get smashed in Arna or MLG.

So, I’ve played numerous people with a K/D over 2 who were terrible. God awful, and what’s funny is that they thought a good K/D made you good at the game.

> > > I wonder if Halo 4 will have a K/D that you will be able to check through a players service tag in game. Thats one of my issues with Reach because I get those people who come in and start judging friends, people and even myself due to K/D Being low. I hate in Reach because at the moment I’m trying to get positive, and I hate going into a game and not going positive and then your K/D goes down. I even hear some of my friends whos K/D’s are like 1.58 and then they are like “NO MY K/D!!” Its just a hassle to have. Thats a reason why Halo 3 is so much fun to me because I can go into a game and not really have to worry about having a negative K/D because people can’t check it, but instead they look at your skill level instead.

I’m not the best either as my k/d in Halo 3 isn’t very good.
>
> That’s not always the case, Some people will have low K/D because they just don’t care, they’re having a bad day, it’s a shared account.
>
> I kind of wish there was a way to edit what can be viewed in your stats and who can view what in your stats. I would most likely set most of my stats so only friends can view my stats, because they don’t give a crap what my K/D or W/L is, because they know I’m weird, and some games where I’m not really trying to win because the other team sucks so bad, and I just either give people kills, or I sit there and screw around.

I really agree with this. A K/D doesn’t accurately depict a persons true skill. It shows how they have done in their past games whether they were trying, having a bad day, were ask, or whatever. My K/D would be higher but there are many times where I just don’t try because im hanging out with a buddy just having a good time. Other times, im just having an off day.

Imo, living dead, grifball, and action sack shouldn’t be counted towards a player’s K/D. I swear, it seems like almost half the population of Grifball is there just to boost their K/D.

Option A: Get good at the game
Option B: Get rid of self esteem problems
Option C: Sell your disk and buy COD

Take your pick…

A: Not easy. It took me 5-6 years to get better (Not good compared to people on the forums though). Check my Halo 3 stats if you wish. Not my best game
B: I’m not sure if he has any problems. If people are flaming him before the match constantly, then he should let people know about that. It’s more like he’s self conscious over his K/D.
C: My favorite comeback so far  To be honest a Halo player will not dominate in their first game of COD. The two are VERY different games. I played one game of MW3 where I went 2 and 20. I didn’t play another game. Not my style.

Option A: Quit Being a complete thoghtless person and realise what I’m trying to say
Option B: Realize that it isn’t just me that I’m talking about its quite a few people who play the game
Option C: I would never play COD

its people in Game, and it probably always will, because its happened to me before and some friends.

I honestly don’t care about K/D, I play Living Dead for fun or I’m being my role in Team Slayer (Support) so I don’t get many kills sometimes. Does that make me bad? Nope, I prefer to be the Driver of vehicles or giving suppression for team mates to they get their kill.
We all play the game differently, the people who care about their K/D are most likely “Main Slayers”, they do anything to get the most kills per game. I, instead, trade off a power weapon to a team mate if I happen to pick up something I know I can’t use it well on that map.

As for Hiding K/D, I’m all for it. They want to see K/D they should go to the site.
