Halo 4 K/D

I wonder if Halo 4 will have a K/D that you will be able to check through a players service tag in game. Thats one of my issues with Reach because I get those people who come in and start judging friends, people and even myself due to K/D Being low. I hate in Reach because at the moment I’m trying to get positive, and I hate going into a game and not going positive and then your K/D goes down. I even hear some of my friends whos K/D’s are like 1.58 and then they are like “NO MY K/D!!” Its just a hassle to have. Thats a reason why Halo 3 is so much fun to me because I can go into a game and not really have to worry about having a negative K/D because people can’t check it, but instead they look at your skill level instead.

Yeah, I also hate it when people judge others by their K/D. I’m indifferent to whether or not it’s on the Service Record, though,

well your K/D shows how effective you are in battle, and if you have semi-self destructive tendencies or not.

I have a 2.0+ k/d and im way better than most scrubs I come across in MM. A persons k/d ratio is the best way in Reach to tell if a person is good.

If a person is less than 2.0 then there most likely bad.

I’m indifferent to them having K/D under service record. But most likely they will keep that feature. It’s just another handy tool.

> Also again not trying to stat flame, but having a negative k/d means you die more then you get kills which means skill level is relatively low, so I don’t really think having a few good games means anything when having a low k/d skill wise. I’m not the best either as my k/d in Halo 3 isn’t very good.

That’s not always the case, Some people will have low K/D because they just don’t care, they’re having a bad day, it’s a shared account.

I kind of wish there was a way to edit what can be viewed in your stats and who can view what in your stats. I would most likely set most of my stats so only friends can view my stats, because they don’t give a crap what my K/D or W/L is, because they know I’m weird, and some games where I’m not really trying to win because the other team sucks so bad, and I just either give people kills, or I sit there and screw around.

K/D’s are pretty pointless when you think about them, I would rather them not show them then actually show them to me.

Don’t ask them to start hiding players stats just so you don’t have to hear what other people have to say about how bad they think you are. It doesn’t matter what they think, just stop being so self-conscious, and this carries over into real life as well, as soon as you stop caring what others think you will be better off.

and besides, even if you do give off a bad first impression through your stats, it’ll just make it that much more impressive when you do better than those players criticizing you!

It’s XBL. People are going to always find ways to be competitive and to judge people. If it’s not K/D it’s something else. Just the way it is.

Haha wow. This guy.

If there was ever a reason to remove K/D from public view, this post is it.

It’s also important to note that in Reach, K/D could easily be padded, and it was not a good representation of skill.

No, K/D should only be viewable on Halo Waypoint, either through the Xbox app, or online. If it is available right in the game, then we’ll just have more and more K/D whores not playing the objective or helping their team at all. Just padding their K/D. The last thing Halo needs is more K/D whores.

Besides, the only game mode where K/D means anything is Slayer.

Halo should include stats that show how much damage you dealt as well as how much damage you took. An individuals K/D ratio is simply not a precise metric to infer a players skill level from. Granted players who have a K/D below 1.0 are obviously dying more then they are killing so from that it would be safe to assume their skill level is relatively low. The opposite though, having a very high K/D, is not always an accurate measure. For example an individual could easily be playing solely for their K/D and ignoring the needs of their team. Using techniques such as avoiding or running from battles to stay alive and camping for kills. Both of which are representative of a selfish player. The only stat that matters, as of now, is your win/loss ratio, but if a damage dealt/damage taken ratio were introduced then that too would be a good indicator of skill.

Best Ranking System EVER!!!

I believe you being able to and others to see your KD in-game is why a lot of people quit out…

I couldn’t care less about your or my own K/D. In fact I didn’t know MINE until I logged on here and accidentally clicked my service record… haha.

To me it’s just a pointless number that generates hatred, scorn and judgment from those immature enough to obsess about such a thing. As demonstrated by a user a few posts above us.

True
Kids will be kids
And always find a way to tease others about something or another .

So many people insecure about their bad k/d. Even in Reach, lol.

I wouldn’t mind if there was a proper ranking system. I just need something to have randoms fear me before the game even begins >:)

lol

Not true. Due to the long respawn timers in objective games it is still important to have a good K/D.
Quitters have always been more annoying than stat padders.

Back on the Reach forum on Bungie.net, people went wild about K/D ratio’s but this community is much nicer.

Did you say people in game or on forums bugged you about it?

It’s funny, there’s a similar relationship between grammar and intelligence.

K/D … Only noobs care for that … Anyway, if Halo 4, has ranked system, everyone will look at that instead either way.

k/d in reach means nothing and in Halo 4 it won’t mean anything as well. I don’t think anyone has said anything to me in Reach about k/d before a match. Then again if they did they are muted since I auto mute everyone =)
