Halo 4 Jet Pack

  1. Flies slow
  2. Takes 3 seconds of usage
  3. Takes 3 seconds to use again
  4. Takes 8 seconds to fully recharge

now, please calm down about it.

It seems to be about half as effective as Reach’s…

This is good news now no one mention camo or people will start flipping out again oops

OMG WTF WHY DUDE ITS LIK3 TEH WORS7 7ING EVAR!!!

now, im gonna put my hand in a microwave

And now the fabled jumppack dies… what a shame.

They should have just made thruster pack give you a vertical boost if you press the jump button at the same time as the AA button or something.

This great news me thinks. I couldn’t bear another Halo game revolving squarely around just one AA (Jetpack) that can break maps and make sprint largely irrelevant. This is coming from experience against good players, not those random ones you’ve shot down on Uncaged.

Now i can shut up, at least for the jetpack. Does anyone know how Camo felt?

I kind of agree Dino, but eh I believe if they had of Thruster Pack would be a given to use or just simply overpowered, so I am guessing they are replicating the Jump Pack enemies use throughout the series. Its a smart move to be honest, Jet Pack was simply to powerful at times on certain Reach maps, ones like The Cage especially :P. I believe Thruster Pack is simply a more streamlined type of Evade fit to add more uniqueness to Mjolnir through those nice boosters. I’ve seen several gameplay vids of Jet Pack, and Thruster Pack and neither one seem dominating, everything in general seems quite balanced honestly.

So far, im pleased  so far I’m seeing what I had hoped to recieve from Halo 4 come to life, now let meh see some of those -Yoink!- forge pieces 343i!

Jet pack is nerfed. This is great for Halo and should fix most of the issues that came with jetpack in reach.

I think I read a quote off of twitter from Nak3d Eli who said that rather than standard radar jamming with red dots, this time it jams with blue dots. I’m not sure if this means for the camo user, or other players near by. I’m pleased if it’s for near by players, because now it serves the purpose of telling us that a camo player is in the vacinity without confusing us with red dots.

You know, I bet if they had changed the name to “Jump pack” instead of Jetpack, and kept it almost exactly the same, people here’d make threads saying “Hurray that Jetpack is gone, good thing 343 replaced it with Jump Pack :D”

my only gripe about it is that it looks like a freaking backpack. i wish itd use the same exhaust & propulsion ports as the thruster pack.

Indeed^ from what I could tell this is true, I’ve watched a couple videos showing off the Camo, it certainly burns up quite fast, especially on the move and there isnt a glimmer or flicker anymore it would seem. I dont seeing it being a AA that will be used very often over other more useful AA’s but that all depends on the situation I would say. Its charge burns up faster evidently due to the full concealment it now benefits except to Promethean Vision users and the radar as usual since a user can still be picked out with some luck, its jamming effect has recieved that slight nerf that will indeed help. I feel it will be useful for Marksman who like to move point to point and be as subtle as possible, but it wont allow a user to remain hidden for long or spam Camo as its recharge is also quite beefy.

I believe most people will stick with AA’s that will benefit the team effort more, to be completely honest Sprint and classic sparring seems to be front and center in Halo 4. I have not seen many people use AA’s that often, in most situations they have attempted to preserve their charge and only use it in emergencies. The only AA that was used quite often was Promethean Vision, but its recharge time was increased and it can no longer be used for as long of a period so I feel that issue was also resolved. It would seem AA’s are on equal ground and the player pulling in those clutch victories will be the one who knows how to steady his aim once again, as well as knowing how to support his team mates.

Might as well just remove it now, amirite???

Sounds nerfed enough to me.

Players with jet packs are easiest ones to kill.

> Players with jet packs are easiest ones to kill.

not true. they can be very dangerous if they know how to use them. a well placed grenade to drop a groups shields and headshots can easily make a good jetpacker a nightmare to others

my feelings on the jet pack are mixed. i feel they could be better but sometimes the Reach ones were a bit too good, and these fix that. maybe set these new ones somewhere in between? i dont like the long time it takes for them to actually lift a person, but, i do understand the reality of it
