Thanks to my awesome time machine, i was able to fast forward to November 6th 2012. I’ve played Halo 4 extensively for a couple of weeks and i can tell you right now that the game isn’t enjoyable.
Warning: Long read below
-Halo 4 will becoming to Ps3 later in 2013 with exclusive content not available on the 360.
-Campaign is very short (clocks around 5 hours on Heroic), and Requiem isn’t visited until the second half of the game (think second to last level). Leaves players hanging via Cliffhanger to build up hype for Halo 5.
-You fight Spartan IVs and they are NOT challenging at all even on Legendary. The AI is laughable on all enemy types.
-Promethean Vision is highly OP and it allows you to see not only through walls, but every single player as well. Think Counter Strike wall hax.
-Sprint double melee is still rampant in the game and is even stronger now due to the increase movement speeds.
-Camo doesn’t last as long but it still jams radars and players can now move slightly faster while remaining invisible.
-No bleedthrough; uses Reach’s shield system.
-The MP is severely unbalanced like everyone feared. The DMR/BR are the most used weapons while everything else is bad. The grenade armor bonus have kids spamming them all over the maps. The AR is the same from Reach, Magnum is 6 shot kill but the DMR and BR are extremely useful (edge goes to DMR though).
-The grenades are stronger than Reach nukes. You read that right; 343 made them stronger and while your movement speeds/jump height are improved, they can still kill very easily.
-Jetpack finds itself being more OP as the maps are easily broken by it and map control (once again) finds itself on the sidelines as EVERYONE picks it. 343 has yet to patch the problems.
- The population (which only it 50000) tends to migrate all to LD. There is no ranked system either. It’s all social now (though it’s labeled competitive).
-Aim acceleration isn’t optional.
-No plans for an MLG playlist.
-Power weapon drops are very random and unlike how 343 describe it too us in the present. They do not cycle through pre determined drop points and in fact spawn near any team. Noobs are now getting rockets and the like without working for them.
-The aim assist and bullet magnetism is significantly higher than it was in Reach. You don’t even need to move your right thumb sticks now! Hit boxes are the size of watermelons as well.
-Spartan Ops (it wasn’t place holder guys) while fun, it really is just a glorified horde mode sprinkled with the occasional objective. The story is regulated to walls of text on a screen during loading times and isn’t engaging at all.
-Plasma Pistol on loadouts is severely OP but the community says it’s balanced. Yeah, noob combos so balanced.
-The Grunts break canon by having toes. 343 didn’t address this issue, Pelican and Cortana share this problem as well.
-The competitive community still sucks and can’t decide what they want. Dismisses Halo 4 as they do now, except in larger numbers. Begs 343 for a true classic playlist with 3 shot kill pistol.
-Casuals are happy with Halo 4 even though everything is broken and OP. Makes threads praising 343 and have no idea what they are talking about.
-The exp system returns and rewards derping instead of doing good in your matches.
-Due to complaints, AL will be introduced later in an exclusive playlist. Elites will also be making a return though 343 says that it will be a long time before they can code them into the game.
So as some would put it, Reach 2.0
