Halo 4 isn't out yet? Did you know that?

I stopped coming to this forum more or less around the time of the Reach TU. It seems everyone was flaming about all these changes they wanted, and when it came time to put up or shut up the VAST MAJORITY still preferred vanilla Reach. I have heard the term “Vocal minority” and it seems to ring true. Why would someone come to this forum to complain if they were happy with the game? They don’t only the few who are raging seem to come here. Which is a big reason I stopped reading/posting. For every well thought out constructive criticism there are 99 ragers complaining about things I’m sure they don’t even fully understand why they are complaining.

Someone got the best of me with armor lock, lets hit the forums and try and stir up some -Yoink-.

That being said, I am still amazed about the flame/rage going on over Halo 4 on here. I understand that of the seemingly many who have posted complaining about it that a hundred times more will be playing it happily on Launch and beyond.

343 has stated, they will be adding features and everything under the sun through TUs that are already scheduled.

So the community (this one at least) has overly voiced their opinions about everything, and 343 has already put forward and effort to support their wishes and build the game well after launch. Maps might cost money down the line, but the TU work will be free for all to enjoy.

My opinion is you shouldn’t complain so much about a game that you haven’t played yet.

You might be mad some options aren’t available yet (I for one would love to see the return of some custom game types and options) but you gotta give 343 a chance before you shoot them down. The focus seems to be on the few things you wanted to see, not the truck load of new things you haven’t even seen yet.

With the amount of Flame/rage you get on this forum, and considering (as the TU vs vanilla playlist numbers clearly show) how little it reflects the halo community (not just forums but the game players, ya know, it’s what most of you are when you aren’t on her complaining) I am suprised 343 doesn’t ignore these boards and opinions all together. BUT THEY DON’T. They showed clearly with the reach TU, that they are listening and doing their best to make you happy.

So next time you come her to -Yoink- and moan, think about it an extra 5 seconds, construct a valid argument, talk to others about it, and offer a solution.

Seriously?

thats one thing I tend to look down on to.

I just wonder if people are going to be complaining about the hardlight shield the same way. looks like we are going to have to find out.

This is ridiculous logic. I don’t need to physically play the game and see there are limited custom settings to know it’s a bad thing. (This isn’t actually my opinion, but I empathise for people who are upset about it).

Your logic would work if the complaints were “I don’t like the look of the jumping” or “I think AR looks too powerful”. But it doesn’t when it comes to criticisms such as the lack of Custom settings and Competitive ranking etc (Again, Im not upset about those).

And I have played the game.

I think the problem with AL was it didn’t have as apparent of a weakness. The hard light shield may be over all stronger (don’t know yet I haven’t played) but because it’s one sided, the less creative will see a way around it and probably complain less.

I think in general it’s that most people are complaining about things they have yet to not experience and that these boards do not, by any stretch, represent MOST Halo players. I think we should give the game a go before flaming it. Also I have seen some people -Yoink- that 343 is ruining it, but they have clearly stated that they will be adding many things per TU update, which I think in and of it self, goes to great lengths to show they are willing to add these requested items and pander to the community. That’s more than almost every other video game franchise out there is willing to do.

The pole doesn’t have the option I want. wich is eevrything thats jnew for halo, and thenew stuff for multiplayer.

Is there a way to edit polls? I’d add it for you if I could.

Don’t be absurd. With all of the gameplay videos, live streams, and the dozens of reviews out already, if you don’t have an idea of what to expect then you have no brain in your skull.

That’s why previews exist: to convince you a game is good. If you see a preview for a movie that looks terrible, do you not avoid the bad movie? We’re seeing previews for a game that make it look very flawed, and that should worry everyone.

For some complaints, you’re right. When you have people complaining about stupid things which they clearly don’t have any experience with, they’re either trolls or just morons - just ignore their threads. No one takes them seriously anyways.

But some things in the game don’t need to be played to for us to know it’s a bad thing, such as:

  • Loss of customisation (Flood mode including.)
  • No competitive ranking
  • No theatre in Campaign or Spartan OPs

Like you said, hopefully they’ll add these things in with later TUs.

Don’t you know? People have time machines to go into the future and play the game!

I disagree. I don’t think the previews show many flaws at all. Maybe I’m just being a brainless optimist. And I understand there is a descent amount of info regarding the game available, but until you experience it, and fully understand the new content, how can you really judge.

As far as basing everything off a preview, I recall seeing a few previews that were lackluster and the final product was phenomenal, The Princess Bride comes to mind.

I for one will miss a few things and hope they implement them, such as more custom variety, but who knows. It being a game you have never played, once it starts and you get sucked into the new stuff maybe you won’t miss the old. When you play Skyrim are you upset you can’t use the energy sword? Ridiculous comparison, but maybe you understand where I am going with that. I mean if everyone wants the old game, go play it, I’m sure you still own it, I know I do.

I’m glad there’s finally a thread about this. Too many people whine and complain about “what looks bad” or “is different from previous games” when they haven’t even played the actual game yet. Of course there are some people out there who have played the game, either at E3, Pax, or Comic Con, but those people are the ones who are making the logical complaint threads. People who blindly complain about something they haven’t even used before just gets on my nerves.

My favorite complaint is the missing of content, AND then followed up with the claim that 343 ruined the game.

343 already stated they would be adding things in many TUs, which is a huge amount of support you just never really see in games. It’s one thing to ask to add something but when the company already said it was going to give you more to ignore that and claim its garbage from day 1. strike that, day -2

That highlighted quote right there, alone, I would think at least, reduce the amount of flaming and point it more in a constructive criticism direction.

This is the WORST post on this forum, how can you not realise that this game is going to be so bad! 343i have screwed this whole franchise over!!!

Oh wait, sorry. What I meant to say was, this is the BEST post. Finally someone with a brain. I understand some people have played the game early and are not 100% satisfied, but I have watched plenty of videos of Halo 4, and I am dead excited!

And if you are not satisfied, leave this forum, don’t buy the game, end of.

Everybody’s excited, that’s why we’re here. To give constructive criticism to make the game even better than we hope. Obviously some people on the forums are going about this the wrong way but that doesn’t represent everyone. Also, not trying to be rude, but I really don’t think anyone cares if you’re excited.

The forums are minuscule anyways. We’re like 1% lol.
