Tell me your thoughts below, and if you want the Jetpack in Halo 5 (or Halo Xbox One whatever)
I can’t hear the audio but usually the argument isn’t that the JP is overpowered, it’s that it breaks map flow (which is also my opinion).
The very nature of what it does and what it allows you to do makes it broken as hell. Solutions:
- Turn it into a Jump Pack. (Basically a double jump)
- Map pick up only
- Remove it from MM completely and reserve it for Campaign, SOps/FF, and Custom games. This is my favorite solution as I hate Jetpacks.
@OGHaza hmm thats strange, but your right I touch on it in the video that breaking maps makes the Jetpack OP.
@Shamona220, agreed I dislike the Jetpack as well and I wouldn’t want it in Halo 5 (except maybe a pick up or jump pack)
Yes it is
I don’t see how it’s overpowered at all. Jetpack users are just easy targets.
> I don’t see how it’s overpowered at all. Jetpack users are just easy targets.
Exactly. It’s why I never use it.
It’s considered OP because it breaks map flow. If it was a map based pick-up ability it probably wouldn’t be a problem. If you seriously think H4s Jetpack is OP, please go take a gander at Halo: Reach’s Jetpack and compare the two.
> I don’t see how it’s overpowered at all. Jetpack users are just easy targets.
^ yep yep
jetpack users can be easy targets, but they do get to place themselves wherever they want. Perhaps the most powerful aspect of the Jetpack is its ability to disrupt map flow, and I believe that is an overpowered trait.

Exactly this, it isn’t OP unlike the Reach variant of it. It just destroys map flow and really gets annoying to me personally.
Yes. It breaks maps.

A hundred times this^^^
Or they could also bring back the grav lift from Halo 3. That was balanced pretty well.
Also, for the people that don’t understand why the jetpack is broken, it is because it breaks the map by completely disregarding sightlines. Why bother learning all the sightlines that the map creators worked on and fine-tuned when you can just have your whole team jetpack up into the air and teamshoot?
I have no issues of the Jetpack, whenever someone uses it they most of the time get themselves killed, even when they aren’t the idiots that fly straight into the air. Once they start using it, you can easily tell they will keep using it. And least it’s not Halo: Reach’s Jetpack, because everyone would be using it then.
So I say no, it’s not OP.
Yes, It is overpowered I find noobs in Pitfall who head for the rocket launcher at the beginning of the match then, fly up and shoot anybody trying to get the ball in Ricochet it pisses me off. Also the ones who use it to EMP my banshee and Hijack it.
Yes, because it allows for out of map exploits in matchmaking, not to mention it also breaks the need for map control. It should stay, but take it out of matchmaking. Just put it in customs, campaign and Spops/ FF.
No, you’re a sitting duck.
It also completely disregards any power weapon that isn’t a sniper of some sort. They get to dodge any grenades, rocket launcher, fuel rod, incineration cannon, concussion rifle, etc. Unless they’re flying close to a wall, well, so much for that power weapon. They can fly over it and ignore basically all explosives or slow projectiles.
This along with reasons already stated by everyone else here, there’s no way that jetpack isn’t just flat out broken.
Does anyone else get aggravated when people say, “They’re an easy target, so it’s not OP”?
I can’t stand it.
It doesn’t matter how easy a target you are, the ability to go over boundaries that you can’t get over by simply jumping, is game-breaking.
The Jetpack could make you a 1-shot kill, take away your ability to shoot, and put a marker over your head, and it would STILL be game-breaking.
Why can’t people understand this?
