Here’s a comparison between the Halo we all know and love, what i know about about H4, and CoD.
Halo we’re used to -
1-50
Everyone has access to the same weapons at the same time.(completely fair)
If a member of your team end up leaving mid game, it becomes a 3v4.
If you win, you earn exp to level up. If you lose, you don’t earn exp and cant level up.
When you die, there is a 4 second respawn.
Halo 4 -
(not sure on 1-50 ranking system)
After leveling, you can purchase armor abilities and weapon atatchments with “spartan points”
Join session in progress gameplay
After each game you are rewarded with “spartan points” (similar to Halo Reach credits?)
When you die, you can tap a button to instantly respawn.
CoD-
Lvl up then prestige (10-15 prestiges)
After leveling, you can purchase weapons, perks, and weapon atatchments
Join session in progress gameplay
After each game you are rewarded with exp (win or lose)
When you die, you can tap a button to instantly respawn
Seeing similarities?
I play Halo to play Halo. There is no need for this game to follow the footsteps of another game.
Come on 343, you’re better than this. I know you are trying to make the game feel new and fresh, but you cant fix what isn’t broken.
Feel free to comment with your opinions, I’m just showing you what I see in this next Halo.
Danmmit I’m getting really tired of people comparing CoD to Halo
Halo is a SiFi shooter that has Aliens and is in 500 years in the Future.
CoD, a military shooter that takes place in current times and you must kill other Humans.
Insta-Spawn: Only in some playlists.
Join in progress, honestly, so many games have this now and people didn’t complain back than. Halo even had it in Cutom Games, and Fogre and nobody cared.
Spartan Points are just Credits, but with a different name.
With Custom Loadout it is only is some Playlists. You Halo “Vets” will get your MLG, Classic Playlist, and Custom Games.(Hopefully Custom Games browsing.)
I’m sorry if it has been said before, I’m not going to dig through 100s of pages of posts to see if a post similar to mine already exists.
Yeah if you can only get certain attatchments for weapons at certain levels, that just gives the people who are higher levels an advantage over those who just started, and thats unfair.

It seems like you are expecting great damage boosts or Firing rate boosts, but in all reality we are probably just going to be able to change the Colors or scopes.

They said that the things you get from Spartan points will be affecting the game play, as in, even if it’s a 5% boost to damage it’s still a considerable boost that’s unrelated to skill.

I’m not saying Halo = CoD in every way, shape, and form. I know the story lines are obviously different, but like I stated in my original post, it’s starting to follow the footprints of CoD. And no one wants to buy a Halo game and buy a CoD game and have the same experience.

well there is a new interview with the multiplayer lead and he says you get spartan points after you level up which makes it possible for it to be 1-50 so please stop jumping to conclutions halo 4 will be great

And with weapon boosts comes over powered weapons, and with over powered weapons comes problems.

No. He hasn’t played the game yet, and NO, it isn’t Call of Duty.

Halo 4 is Halo 4 not Halo 1-3 or COD. End of argument.
> Yeah man, people will play dumb and say there are no similarities. Those people annoy me so much!
I’m annoyed by the hundreds of threads comparing Halo to CoD. Where its just as easy to contribute to one of the many already existing topics.
Too many threads saying the same thing that we’ve seen many times. One big hate thread or one big CoD comparison thread would be good, but more than 1 of these every day keep popping up. Nothing really original is there, and its most likely already been discussed.
OK, I’ve been reading the gameinformer magazine and for Halo 4 and I quote from the magazine, “players apply game play-changing upgrades to their character much like call of duty or battlefield.” and,“players slowly unlock an array of weapons, armor abilities, and modifications for a soldier to bring into the battle.”
However Halo to me has always been based on finding and scavenging for weapons and ammo and use what ever you find to your advantage. Even though I’m still going to get the game I don’t thing it will last long in interest seeing how I was attracted to its original battle style.
Now yes I do like call of duty and battlefield but its because their play style matches their leveling and unlock system. I strongly urge that 343 Industries remove this level and unlock system. What I suggest is that the only thing you can change is the way you guy looks but say if you get the full set of say ODST you sprints last longer, or full EOD you take less explosive damage, (but not to much explosive resistance that you can survive a rocket). Full scout/recon allow you to either zoom in more or you long range shots have more precision. EVA gives better driving capabilities. CQB gives either more melee or close range weapon damage.
Now I don’t mind having some of the armor abilities but I think it would be better if you have them as pick ups that are placed around the map like the weapons. This in turn allows you and your team to have to try to battle for the jet pack or the invisibility. Now you could have everyone spawn with sprint because its the ideal ability and it seems more realistic seeing how your a super solder but couldn’t run in the previous games, but it still be an ability that would be replaced by the ability you pick up.
Now the spartan ops that they say they are going to add is a vary nice way to go, because I agree when they said that multiplayer its just killing dude and there’s no point to it. The story will offer a long lasting reason to play it, as long as they can make new the missions, but that is the down side, the fact that you will eventually run out of ideas for the story line and it will come to an end.
Over all my main concern is the leveling and unlock system, and that fact it should be removed even though its a good idea, it doesn’t really fit in with Halo’s salvage and use system.
Please, you aren’t contributing anything new and you’re still wrong. If anything Halo 4 looks to be closer to GoW than CoD. All you’re doing is twisting arguments to your view even if it’s wrong.
