Halo 4 is promoting an unhealthly life.

Don’t get me wrong i’m not complaining. I’m kinda of enjoying it since i am an adult and can make my own bad choices if i so chose, but rather i’m just a little shocked that this game is doing it in such an unapologetic way.

First, you get double XP for Mountain Dew and Doritos. However, if you get both you can put the codes in at the same time and get even more XP.

Second, MS is now offering 600 free MSP if we can play 140 hours of Halo multiplayer within 26 days. Now that’s roughly 5 and a half hours a day everyday. However, if you cant play cause of unavoidable things like school or work then you’ll have to put in more time a day to make up for it.

Thus, halo has star power like no other and its selling junk food and play till your eyes bleed. I love it! :stuck_out_tongue:

However, i do kinda feel bad for younger people, preteens and teens just cause i know they could be doing something better with there lives and i’m sure there will be quite a few of them diving head first into this. Although, if the parents don’t carefully regulate them its their fault but that doesn’t take blame away from the promoters of Halo cause they know they have selling power and influence and boy oh boy they are capitalizing on it in a way i haven’t seen before lol. That’s not to say its never happened cause maybe i haven’t been paying attention.

Anyway, I’m digging it. I’m 33 years old, disabled and on house arrest for a crime i didn’t commit so i’m going to gain 30 pounds from now until then. Nevertheless, i’ll keep in mind what this is doing to the youth and then quickly forget about it when i’m tea baggin their -Yoink- lmao!!!

lulwut

I’m jealous you have such a good excuse to play so much. This game really is a waste of time, even if you go pro. I’ve met ex-pros who have regretted every minute.

I only play for fun. i even time myself, 1 or 2 hours max. After that, jump to something productive (school/work related).

I knew about the double XP stuff, but now MS has come up with that “140 hours of halo” gig? What does MS even gain from that?

> First, you get double XP for Mountain Dew and Doritos. However, if you get both you can put the codes in at the same time and get even more XP.

That’s just a bonus. If you purchase Doritos or Mountain Dew, you get extras for in-game use in Halo 4. Nobody’s forced to purchase these items. I don’t drink soda or eat junk food, so I will probably never participate in the double experience opportunities related to these products.

Again, it’s a bonus. You’re not forced to do anything. It’s just a way to keep incentive. I don’t see the problem.

That’s got to be the most absurd thing I’ve ever read.

It’s the parents responsibility to keep their children in a healthy lifestyle, at least until they become old enough to decide for themselves. In no way do I or would I blame the “promoters” if parents cannot properly moderate their children.

i have no idea what they gain from it. If you are a rewards member, which is free anyway, it tells you right on the site. You know they same place you get rewards for doing the surveys and what not. Oh wait, i get it, it’s probably an incentive for players do go and buy the game right away instead of waiting. That’s the only thing i can think of.

Doesn’t matter one bit. And if is that is the most absurd thing you ever heard you the most absurd person that i ever responded to. I just got done saying that the parents are the ones ultimately responsible. However, last time i checked we don’t live in a perfect world.

Thus, not all parents are going to regulate them properly now are they? Mean while, the promoters know this and capitalize on it cause they know some kids are going to be begging for, or finding ways to get all the junk food and do their best to get that 140 hours in. Basically, the promoters provide the temptation and now its up to the parents to catch it and get some control over it. You can’t say the promoters hands are clean from not giving a dam one way or another. Why? simply because of their intentions. Their intentions are hell bent on making a dank load of money at the expense of promoting an unhealthly life style.

Now, do i care, not really. It reminds me of the streets really. You slang to make money F**K everything else thats life. I’m just shocked to see it here thats all. If you still don’t aggre with me then let me elaborate a little more. Say some drug dealer was selling dope to your kids and you didn’t catch it in time or for awhile. Would you completely blame yourself for not being a good parent or would you be pissed of at the drug dealer as well and blame him for his moral conduct? If you wouldn’t then you got some screws lose my friend.

Thus, i’m not taking any moral high ground here, i’m just calling it how i see it cause that’s how it is. And for the record, if you don’t dig into all these promotions it doesn’t mean others wont. Everyone in the world isn’t you.

Unhealthy life? If you get all the double xp you can’t play for then 4 or 5 hours before they xp cap you off each day. Thus, there is plenty of time to go outside rather than enjoy the game that you paid for plus the money added on with the double xp. Maybe, it is just there way of promoting Black Ops 2 by xp capping everyone.

well i dont have a life so…

why do you guys think this is a complaint is not lol. I like it. However, I like a lot of things unhealthly. I just didn’t expect halo would be doing it lol
