343 Have taken a huge step backwards IMO:
A very basic campaign
Mulitiplayer:
Seems to be Halo 3 mixed with Reach, Which if you have not learnt by now Reach was not the way to go, Bungie had the winning formula in place for such a long time up until Reach and then when 343 took over pretty much everybody i knew hoped that you would fix it.
That was not the case
Ordnance drops are a main problem as well filling up the map with power weapons in sometimes seconds of the game starting! That matched with the amount of vehicles you have on a map makes for a sometimes very frustrating experience
Connections:
For what ever reason you seem to be using an out of date system to deal with connections while other games be it BF3 with its dedicated servers or Blops 2 with its matchmaking set to ping and location
Editions of the game:
Standard: You know what you are getting with this, The game, Instruction book (Or in H4’s case none) and possible a trial
Limited Edition: IMO the worst LE to ever be released, Compiled of information which some can be found on Halowaypoint in the first place and the journal of Gabriel Thorne IS essentially the instruction booklet that should have been included in the standard.
Getting the standard and the season pass separately is still cheaper then buying the LE so that argument is invalid.
Legendary Edition: For whatever reason there is not one it is a shame though a statue of Master Chief in the pose of the standard edition cover art would have been a nice addition.
Limited Edition Console: A very tacky looking console while the controllers with this look alright, I can see what they were trying to do with it but Wasn’t the reason the see through Original Xbox’s didn’t sell very because they looked bad?
Don’t get me wrong the game looks and sounds amazing but you do get the impression that Halo 4 is just testing the water to see if it still sells but anyway cheers for reading and i know some of you will not agree but im not expecting you too
I respect your opinion but personally I think the Multiplayer is much better than Reach and how can you say trying to be Halo 3 is bad? You’d be complaining just as much if Halo 4 was trying to move away from it…
If you think the campaign of H4 was bland how can you even glorify H3? H3 is well known for having the easiest campaign in the series so isn’t your argument invalid?

Sorry i may not have worded it properly but i meant it was trying to be a mixture of Halo 3 and Reach but with more of Reach coming through
Very basic campaign… please. Halo 4’s campaign was great and that’s a fact. Maybe you just weren’t able to appreciate it because of your lack of knowledge regarding the Halo lore. Read a book.

You are right i don’t know much about the lore, but i know bits and pieces and i understood what was going on through out it but to me it felt basic. To me HCE, H2, H3 and ODST had good story’s there just wasn’t any moments in Halo 4’s campaign that i can honestly say stood out
I agree about Halo 4 multiplayer being way too Reach inspired. This ought to be, mechanically, a sequel to Halo 3, not a sequel to Reach.
Honestly I think Halo 4 would be amazing with static weapon spawns, no AAs and no perks. The groundwork for another brilliant Halo game is totally there, there’s just a coating of CoD/generic FPS on top of it with the idiotic ranking system, kill streaks and non-existent ranking system.
Halo 4 definitely isn’t a disappointment. What is a disappointment is that I can so clearly see that 343i are capable of making a Halo that surpasses Halo 2 and Halo 3 and yet they’ve given us something that will be totally forgotten in a few years time due to its “flavour of the month” style of shooter.
Infinitely better than the festering pile of crap we call “Reach” but really 343i - no matter how good a cake you can bake if you sprinkle it with piss it’s always going to taste rotten!
Offer a classic playlist, not for nostalgia purposes but because the old Halo mechanics were more balanced and required more skill and intelligence than picking up random weapon drops.

YES! This game has the foundation, but perks, AA’s and no static weapons spawns have messed it up.
Honestly the removal of AA’s alone improves this game a ton.

Highly agree
