Halo 4 is new, quit whining!

Okay, I have heard many players on Halo 4 and YouTube comments talking about how Halo 4 isn’t the exact photo-replica of the classical Halo games. If you want the old, play the old. Not the new.Halo 4 is 343’s second game as a FPS, since Halo: Wars was a strategy game. Of course it borrowed some aspects from Call of Duty, like custom classes. Okay, they did not have some of the gametypes like Assault, regular infection, VIP (Reach didn’t have that, either), and Race/Rally. But that doesn’t matter! Enjoy the game, and if you don’t like it, sell it or don’t play it. Simple as that.
I rest my case.

Actually this is their first game. They didn’t make Halo Wars, and Halo CEA was just a reskin, so not quite the same thing.

People aren’t mad because its not a carbon copy of Halo 1, 2, or 3. They are annoyed because of how much more generic the game has become, and how too much has changed. Sure everyone gets extremely rude with how they go about it. But that’s something that happens when such a thing is so close to many peoples hearts. Which, honestly, Halo is. Many people could play a Halo game, enjoy it and move on. But the fanbase, they are mostly people who have stuck with it since the beginning, or joined along at a later time and allowed Halo to become an almost central part of their lives. 343 turned their backs a little too far on this base. Hoping of course to bring in a bigger base. Which it hasn’t accomplished. So next time around 343 will hopefully land closer to home on this.

So your case isn’t quite rested, but your point is noted. Yes, its different, games need to change. How far and how much though? That’s a big debate. I started playing Bioshock Infinite before playing any of the previous titles. I thought it was amazing! But I have read tons of people complaining that they changed too much. This is the difference that casual players and the hardcore fanbase make to a game. Mostly I think the fanbase has taken well to Infinite, which the Halo fanbase would if not quite so much was different. The game just feels different, its hard to explain. I would like they lean back towards their roots in Halo 5, but we will just have to see what happens. They might manage to change the game even more, but if it works for the fanbase and is fair, then no one will care in the long run.

343 didn’t make Halo Wars.

You can read any previous topic on this and you’ll get the same answers.

Many people, myself included, believe that Halo 4’s use of POs, AAs, perks, and custom loadouts took away from a lot of Halo’s core, traditional gameplay. All Halo games have had a particular type of gameplay, and those features detracted from it instead of approved it.

Who wants to go back to Halo 3? The game is almost six years old. We want a new game with new features just like everyone else; we just don’t want it with Halo 4’s features.

just another uncompromising noob.

Instead of improving Ranks, Forge, Customs, CoOp, 343 decided to add features from other games. It doesnt make any sense to me. 343 didnt even do a good job of copying them IMO. Why not build off of what made Halo 3 great? Not a remake of Halo3, an improved, refined, and evolved Halo. COD features dont improve, refine, and evolve Halo.

If you think they do then please explain.

Long term fans like myself are constantly giving constructive feedback. Nobody is whining. Some people are more rude than others but its understandable.

343 took the stuff in reach and ran with it. they expanded way more than needed to the point of taking away the core gameplay of halo.

after what was supposed to be the revival of halo i can see why others would be ticked.

Criticism is fine as long as it’s constructive. We’ve gotten many improvements to the game likely because of “good” criticism.

Yep its new alright, less than a year old and it can’t keep above 40k.

May be a poor analogy… When Episode 1 came out, Lucas could have said “it’s new! Go watch the old ones!”
But no. He took an amazing, iconic franchise and ruined it, ( not on purpose of course). If I was the creator of Star Wars, I’d be ashamed of what happened to my series. I’m sure Bungie feels the same way.

So if I don’t like a game I can’t voice my opinion as to why I didn’t like so the developer might know what to pay attention to the next time around?

That’s a bit odd, isn’t it?

New doesn’t equal better, and it doesn’t even mean “as good as”. In this case, several core elements of Halo that people really liked and that made the game great were taken away and replaced in ways that the classic halo fans (ones that played Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, and in some ways, Halo Reach) think were necessary.

Just because it’s new doesn’t mean it’s in any way, shape, or form even up to the level of “acceptable”. I think many of the things that happened with Halo 4 (flinch instead of descope, the continuation and expansion of armor abilities, loadouts, ordnance, sprint, the insane auto-aim and magnetism, and many others) are the worst things to happen to Halo, and it’s honestly a travesty that these were included.

Yet another one of these threads I see. But I’ll post. You cannot go around telling people who bought the game to either shut up and deal with it or get out. How do you think the Reach TU came about? Or better yet, the fixed Mass Effect 3 ending?

There are several problems with this game that are purely objective, such as a lack of a party matching system, search filters, host selection, and gutted customs and Forge. On top of that, there are many more subjective problems that the majority seems to dislike at this point.

Bottom line is this: I bought the game, and so did you. You have no right to say I can’t dislike it. I will complain about it as much as I want, AKA exercise my freedom of speech and right as a consumer.

This sums up my opinion as well. Threads like this one that tell people to either put up or shut up are just horrible.

double post

Bungie doesnt care about what is happening with halo. If they did Reach wouldnt have been as bad as it was.
Ps. I liked reach though

As are the “OMg 343 u sux beecuase u ruin Hal0. Halo dead 4ever! HATE.” threads.

I’m exaggerating a bit of course, but you all know what I mean.

No, I prefer to talk about the things I like and don’t like about the game I bought with my own money. I rest my case.

To be honest Halo is probably such a good game because of the fact that the community are so critical of it. That’s not to say it doesn’t have its fair share of trolls though.

So it doesn’t matter than Halo 4 has less content than Reach?
