I’m not asking for any hate (nor implying it will be a bad game) but Halo 4 is looking to expand on Reach rather than Halo 3.
It doesn’t seem to be the true sequel to Halo 3, which it’s supposed to be(Hence ‘Halo 4’).
I’m not trying to complain but it’s just disappointing.
And f.y.i imo, Reach was an amazing game.
> It’s a sequel to Halo 3 but just storywise. As you said it’s expanding on Reach but just in terms of gameplay… nuff said.
I fail to see how greater jump height/base movement speed, unique multiplayer environments, only visual bloom, the BR, weaker grenades, and no health packs are like Reach.

Halo 3= arena shooter
Halo Reach=Class based shooter
Halo 4=Class based shooter
Halo 4 has classes,AA’s, sprint, fall damage, bloom, etc… Whereas Halo 3 did not, so Halo 4 is a sequel to Reach game play wise.
> The only thing that I see that resembles Reach are AA’s. Everything else screams Halo 2/3 to me.
I didn’t know,
default Sprint, Bloom, DMR, Perks, Loadouts, assassinations, Specializations, easy Sniper Rifle, Reach vehicle designs, class-based multiplayer and lastly Armour Abilities screamed Halo 2/3. The only ‘sequel’ part of Halo 4, in my opinion, is the story.
Game-play is always evolving. Though the actual gameplay seems more like H2/H3, with a dash of reach(AA)… and then further elaborated in terms of customization.
In terms of the universe it is clearly the next story after Halo 3. But in terms of its game play and design I personally feel that 343i are aiming for a balance between Reach and the earlier games.

As is said it’s EXPANDING on Reach. It takes good old Halo 3 elements, some parts of Reach and adds new shiny stuff to it.
I guess- but it’d sorta be limited if it didn’t build on Halo Reach’s game elements. I mean all it’s bringing back is the AA’s- yeah the cR system is back but that dosen’t affect you in-game really. Plus if they didn’t build upon the Forge or Spartan customization I’d be very dissapointed with it altogether.

yeah which is what makes it a sequel…if a game came out set in the halo universe wihe the same MP as halo 3 (with some upgrades) but telling an entirely different story it would still not be a sequel

Not really, like I said it’s more like a sequel to Reach than Halo 3.
