Halo 4 is less anticipated than Halo Reach!

Halo: Reach was alot more anticipated and hyped than Halo 4! Halo 4 might end up have less sales than Halo Reach! This is Halo 4, a seaquel to Halo 3, one of the most anticipated games in the history of gaming (before CoD came along). And yet Halo 4 is less hyped than Halo: Reach! This is the return of the Master Chief, and it still isn’t very hyped!

Here is proof that Halo 4 isn’t very hyped and might not have as many sales as Reach:

The reason for this? Why isn’t Halo 4, hyped? Is it because it was leaked? Is it because some people arn’t satisfied with the limited edion? Is it because it’s not made by Bungie and people don’t trust 343i?

None of those are the reasons, the reason is because 343i/Microsoft are not advertising this game AT ALL! Look at Assassins Creed 3 or Black Ops 2, they have these ads all over websites, ads on youtube, and comercials about the game. So far Halo 4 has NO public trailers or ads! That is the problem! When Halo: Reach was 4 weeks from launch it had many comercials on TV, many Ads on youtube, pre-order banners on websites like IGN and Machinima. Halo 4 is 4 weeks from launch, and what does it have? NOTHING. There is said to be 1 Comercial coming on Thursday, but honestly, just 1 Comercial? And so close to launch? What was Microsoft thinking? This is Halo! It is their best selling game, and they don’t even care enough to advertise it? If they don’t start advertising soon then launch will be a failure, no matter how good the game is.

As for Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, that is not quite advertisement because people have to google it up themselves to watch, an ad needs to be put infront of the publics face. All the other big games have been doing, all except Halo 4, it just makes no sense. What is Microsft/343i thinking?! Are they planing to advertise it on the very last week? are they going to have no advertising at all?!?!

Pass that this way…because it must be some good stuff.

Odd how I got signed out while trying to reply to this thread…

Anyway, Halo 4 will inevitably sell better than both Reach and Halo 3. Reach made more than Halo 3, but Halo 3 has sold more copies in a 5 year lifespan. Reach would have passed it given the same amount of time.

Halo 4 has the benefit of being a direct sequel, releasing near the holiday season, and just being a new Halo.

Straight from Nielson himself, you fail.

Reach wasn’t running up against a new COD release, see the differences in weeks there?..

Halo 4 is the first Halo game since 2007 to get a midnight release in my town. That speaks for how much more anticipated it is than Reach.

“This,” and Halo 3 was honestly ‘cool to play,’ back them. By the time Reach came around, kids had already moved onto other games and became attached to them. That and i remember before Call of Duty became SUPER popular (2007) kids hating on Halo saying stuff like “man, I don’t wanna pump 40 bullets into a guy and he doesn’t die, but I don’t like Medal of Honor that much,” call of duty is that answer to those fans. Its that game with a smooth flow and fast killtimes… those same kids are the ones addicted to Call of duty…but yeah , I want Halo 4 to do good but you gotta be pragmatic like the post above is…

It should be hyped as it is a direct seaquel, your right! But it isn’t! I phoned one of my friends a few months ago and asked him if he was getting Halo 4, his response was “There’s a Halo 4?!”. That goes to show how hyped the game is, a few months ago some people didn’t even know about it. Also look at this.

Preorders don’t really indicate hype for a game sometimes people move on the people that have preordered i think are really hyped for the game i mean i would rather it be less hyped and be really good then over hyped and disappointing due to really high expectations

I was not comparing the ranks on the chart compared to CoD. I was comparing Halo 4’s pre-orders to Halo: Reach’s pre-orders. Both in the span of 4 weeks before launch, and based on the pre-orders, Halo: Reach was clearly more popular (in 2010) than Halo 4 is now.

Bungie had better marketing campaigns than 343i…

Marketing is primarily handled by the publisher.

I am not sure if that is more accurate than VG Chartz, it might be.

Hey these are Halo Waypoint fourms, the comunity on these fourms are supposed to be freindly to each other, otherwise we will be no different than the horrible youtube comunity. Let’s be kind to each other, after all we are all Halo fans

Most of those numbers was more than likely casual gamers getting a big release to fill the void of a new COD release.

I’ve seen many people at the Gears 3 midnight launch and previous Halo launches that I know to be casuals who now do nothing but play COD.

Edit: I also only pre-ordered the game last week, not that this changes much…some people simply don’t bother pre-ordering.

Yeah well then 343i needs to step it up! How do they expect to sell their wonderful game if they arn’t even promoting it?!?!

Because Reach sucked and Halo 4 is really just Reach 2.

> Because Reach sucked and Halo 4 is really just Reach 2.

And Halo 3 wasn’t Halo 2.5?

Games build upon their predecessors and try to improve upon them. Reach didn’t ‘suck’ because it changed, but rather because the change wasn’t designed well. I doubt there will be a problem if they are built well in Halo 4.

Let’s not forget that Halo 2 is still the most hated Halo game to date, and the jump from CE to Halo 2 is still the biggest.

I don’t trust their numbers, mainly because they’re relatively unsourced, but you also have to factor in the fact that CoD has had new content yearly, while we got a reskin to a classic and a prequel. That’s not even adding the fact that CoD is wildly more popular due to the mainstream attention it’s gained over the past few years as well. Halo 4 being this hyped may as well be a miracle, with what it has for competition.

Well whoever is inchared of marketing, be it Microsoft, is really dumb be to sitting around with their thumb up their butt, not putting up any ads while they are in tight competition against AC3 and BO2 and to make matters even worse, its 4 weeks until launch, and still no comercials, ads, or trailers.

But it could be hyped so much more if Microsft actually ADVERTISES the game! This is Halo 4, an actual continuation to the main storyline! The Master Cheif is back, this is a seaquel to Halo 3, the most hyped and anticipated game ever!(until CoD came along and stole the spotlight). Halo 4 should have alot more preorders, hype, ect.
