Other than that I agree, more or less.

I think Halo has proven to be more than “just a video game” for most of us.
Halo isn’t just a video-game, it’s also a universe
its not just a game… its a franchise, its a story, its an immense world filled with untold mystery, its the magic of getting together and experiencing all of that for years, pfft halo is just a game
Look, nothing is “just” anything. Everything matters. When we decide that somethings unimportant, we remove so much potential and so much existing value.
Video games aren’t “just” video games. They’re video games – they’re a wonderful interactive art form that could improve the ability for human beings to relate to one another. And these forums are part of that mechanism. People are getting passionate about their ability to relate to the world – we tell people a lot about ourselves by affiliating with video games. Unfortunately it’s pretty territorial these days, but it doesn’t have to be. The important thing is that people are so passionate because they want to know that they’re being understood and that they can enjoy something that was made for them, like it seemed the earlier installments were.
So shush. Cherish these angry, spit-flinging people. They’re awesome, even if they’re a bit wanton, arrogant and childish. That’s humanity in a phrase.
Nah man. Don’t you understand that if there is no Halo, there is no reason to live?! -Yoink- real life, Halo is the only thing that matters in my life.

Halo has become sorta a quasi-religion in its infancy. We just lack the wherewithal to petition the Government for tax exemptions.
Halo was just a video game the first 5 days it came out in 01, after that it became a hobby, a lifestyle, and a whole new universe. It no different from many other types of media.

Did I say I don’t like Halo? No. Did I say you guys don’t have lifes? No. Am I being a “jerk” for stating what I think about Halo? No. That’s what the purpose of these forums are, right? And aren’t you being a jerk for assuming that I write crappy music?
Halo 4 is the continuation of a legacy and the story of one of the most significant fictional figures in entertainment. It matters.

It’s not just a game, it’s a damn good game and an incredible crannies with astounding fiction and universe. For me Halo has always been my favorite video game franchise. It was the first game I played on Xbox and it is what got me hooked to the Xbox.
Eh sorry, I do agree though that a lot of the fighting about the game is out of line.
And I am super excited for H4.

Your right in a way OP, the sense of entitlement and bickering is a bit much. But on the other hand, Halo has become a little more than just a game. Its a franchise with a wonderful universe that now has a huge following just for that. Its honestly up there with Star Wars, Star Trek, DC, and Marvel in my opinion.
